I totally agree with him. He did bring in Bale, Berbatov and Modric. All were very successful. However he also bought in Bentley, Bent, Boateng and many more. But to blame him for those failures? I wouldn't. For some reason players with potential always go backwards at Spurs. There is a major problem here.

Remember he also got Suarez to Liverpool. If he was still at Spurs, i'm sure Suarez would have been a Spurs player. I guess he got the sack for Juande Ramos

Fair play to him for getting those players to sign for us but they weren't discoveries .

They were already being monitored by the club before Commolli arrived .

Harry Redknapp and Tony Pulis have more football in their little fingers than this guy .

Glenn may be able to explain why Damian is such an arsehole .

I don't know whether Comolli is correct in his assessment, but I do know that he isn't sure of his facts.

He categorically claims to know that 19 of the top 20 clubs have a scouting network, but "doesn't think" Spurs have got any scouts. Spurs had a strong scouting network when he was in charge, but now "it doesn't seem to be the case". He categorically knows that all the top clubs in the Premier League have five fitness coaches and five physiotherapists, but he "doesn't think Spurs have got anywhere near that at the moment".

Comolli worked at Spurs for a number of years. Of all the top clubs in the World and the Premier League, you would expect him to know about Tottenham. Yet his knowledge is absolute when it comes to every other club bar Tottenham where, all of a sudden, he's not that sure.

He may be right. But it sounds a lot more like the "when I was at a club, everything was better because I was there" spiel that you get from former employees of a club when things aren't going that well. File under "stuff I heard on Talksport".

I stuggle to disagree with or go against the man that brought us our best 3 players (bar King) in my lifetime of supporting Spurs.

Berbatov was being linked with us long before Comolli joined, and Levy, famously, did the Modric deal himself. Bale wasn't exactly an unknown, was he?

On the other hand, when we were screaming out for an experienced CB and DM in summer 2007, he brought in Kaboul and Prince Bong (amazingly, he was able to sign Woodgate a few months later), who really didn't fill the bill. He also signed Bentinho as (in his own words) a 'project', his cunning plan being that we'd ship Defoe off to the Spammers—but Defoe didn't want to go. It's also been alleged that he told Levy we could let Carrick go because he had someone better lined up in the shape of Diddy-A Zokora.

I can well believe there are problems with our scouting system, but this slimy tub of pus can just fuck off and die.

What's Levys email address? We can send him a link to the scouting thread and tell him to start there. Alternatively he can hire me to work for free as I'm 100% certain I've got a better eye for first team players than whoever is recommending these duds we keep buying!!!

Our current crop were hardly unknowns, it doesn't make them sure things.

Bale, Modric and Berbatov were all risks. BAE and Kaboul have been good signings. KPB didn't work out, but ended up forging a decent career for himself, Woodgate and Corluka were great signings. Yes there was some shit, but nobody has ever brought in players that had such a big impact and played the way we want to play than Comolli in my lifetime. A tub of pus he may be, but a good 5 or 6 of the players he brought in were very good/exceptional for Tottenham at points.

Where did they go and why were they replaced? Was this a Redknapp thing where he basically wanted Bloomfield and that's it? Why was the network disolved? These are the types of questions Levy needs to front up to. He can't keep blaming other people if he oversaw the dismantling of the system that brought us such quality.
Redknapp's scouting network stretched no further than to 10.30pm each Saturday hosted by Gary Lineker

Every single club in the world has signed shit players. We did too, But we also brought in more talent with him than we have
done with anyone else

He makes valid points but given his dreadful track record he is the last person who should be saying this stuff, it's like Mick Philpott saying the McCann's are bad parents

He should zip it

You really think Kaboul has been that good a signing? We've had one decent season out of him, and how much of that was because he was paired with Ledley? The point, anyway, is that he was not what was required. One of the rare occasions we've had total unanimty on SC was that we needed a good, experienced CB that summer, and Distin, for one, was available. Comolli didn't deliver one. KPB wasn't what was required, either. Neither was Bent, and Bale was one for the future. If Comolli had set out deliberately to undermine Jol and sabotage our season, he couldn't have done a much better job.

Corluka was a good signing, but we'd blown £9m on the useless Jock thumb impersonator Hutton eight months earlier.

Hard to call KP Boateng a failure, or Bentley or Bent. KP did very well at AC Milan, and BEnt & Bentley were considered good buys by many

We ain't going to get any world class talent, because we cant afford them.. We are then having to shop elsewhere where the prices are cheaper, but so are the risks.
