Don't think people should be telling anyone how to feel, everyone grieves differently.
Not sure if serious but are you honestly comparing this shit show to genuine grief?
If you are then you can genuinely fuck off.
If you're not and are fishing then well done for getting a bite.

Crying at a manager getting the boot and jeering at a player or getting angry at a player is a different emotion. I think you know this.
You can champion it if you want and its nothing to do with being macho. Good forbid if some of you ever get called up for queen and country if we went to war, we'd be fucked.

This is one of the dumbest posts I've ever read. People aren't just sad because he lost his job, really obviously. They're sad because it's the end of an era which has given us some of the most enjoyable moments as Spurs fans over the past few decades. Getting angry and getting sad at football are both irrational, if you apply your own warped logic to it - it's just that you think being angry is a tough guy emotion and being sad is for pussies.

Imagine what sort of backwards thinking you have to have to go from somebody thinking a nice sentiment etched on a whiteboard is touching to thinking "fukin 'ell, if you bunch of pussies ever get in the trenches, we'll be fukd". Christ.

Nonsense. Members here are comparing this to grief. If they'd suffered it then they wouldn't.

You know there's not a chart of emotions which says you can react this way to this situation and not to another don't you?

Obvs. But if there was, my chart would have crying over the manager of a football club getting sacked right at the bottom.

Firstly If I were you I'd learn what the term grieving actually means...i.e it's not just about getting over a loss of life, you can grieve and express sorrow for a loss of something or someone close to you.

Read: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.hu...her-than-death_b_59794d8ce4b06b305561ce05/amp

Secondly if the only way you can respond in a debate is by telling people to fuck off I'm gonna assume you've got some sort of problems dealing with emotions or you're a juvenile and you're probably not ready for a debate like this.

But there isn't. You just have a fundamental misunderstanding of empathy. That's the reason people are able to get emotionally invested in characters in films they've only been watching for 2 hours because filmmakers understand that a story can make people feel empathy, hell people can feel empathy just by watching a 2 minute clip on the internet and that's why people are sad because they've bought into the story of Poch and are sad with the outcome. It doesn't mean people don't understand the difference between a manager being sacked and losing a loved one that's just a ridiculous notion but as usual people think life is binary.

It would appear you're the one who has a fundamental misunderstanding of empathy. You can be empathetic and not cry for goodness sake. I can empathise with the fact he's lost his job, it would suck. However crying about it is another thing altogether.

Why are you so afraid of a physical reaction to sadness though? You've out-rightly said you're fine with anger but not tears? It doesn't have any fucking bearing on anything.

What's your quote on a safe space? Asking for a friend.

I reckon you would have cried if we voted remain.

I'm not afraid of it as you put it. A little perspective is needed I think. The guy got sacked. He didn't pass away. It's an overreaction by some over emotional people. It's my opinion and I dont expect you to agree.
