He is a Harry 'buy' all day long. Big, powerful, a pain in the ass in the box, a centre half. Granted, not the most creative of players, but a handful when we are winning away or at home 2-1 just to secure the win.

6ft 4", 26 years old - he is huge.

For the record, I would rather have a team full of tricky players. But this is The Premiership and as HR said, we need a balanced side which is why I believe he will take him on a contract.

Ok

I was just wondering if you knew something ITK style to suggest we were in for him, but I assume you are using your logic to second guess Harry based on what you perceive to be the type of player he would sign and the fact Harry has ruled him out.

We'll see I guess, personally I don't think this one will happen as I don't think we need him....but stranger things have happened.

He ain't that bad - but with three exceptional older centre-halves (Ledders/Woody/Gallas) - even if in varying states of 'undress', and three very good younger ones (Daws/Kaboul/Bassong), Caulker coming through the ranks (and widely tipped to 'make it'), and Khumalo arriving (I wish folk would stop writing this guy off before he has even kicked a ball in anger:bang:), doesn't it just seem like even 5 pence would be a lot of money for someone to just sit on the bench (on good days, for him, when we have a real injury crisis), and use up a squad place:shrug:

Caulker out on loan

All except Caulker are over 21. 25 man squad limit.

Even if Woodie isn't registered again, it just would make any sense from that PoV, without even considering the fact that he isn't good enough anyway.

Gallas - 1 year contract due to end
Woodgate - Isn't he finished now and going out on loan?
King - Isn't he finished now? (To be fair, I am getting fed up with the King stories - he needs to retire and open a pub)

That leaves Dawson, Kaboul and Bassong.

Gallas - has earned an extension.
Woodgate - probably finished IMO, yes.
King - certainly not finished. How many times does he need to be written off before people learn to stop doing this?

So that leaves:

Gallas
King
Dawson
Kaboul
Bassong

And Khumalo. I forgot about him.

And Caulker.

King and Woodgate? What planet are you on?

We cannot expect to challenge for any league with Hinge and Bracket at center back.

Gallas is a mercenary and is ON A ONE YEAR CONTRACT only with AN OPTION from BOTH the club and him. He will no-doubt go and soak up the dollars next year just to secure his right to never work again.

A different one from you apparently, as I clearly wrote that Woodgate is finished IMO.

Gallas has played well, including captaining the side to an away win against our nemesis, his former club. You have no idea whether he wishes to extend his time with us or not. Typing something in capitals doesn't make it true.

He lives next door to my daughters school and is a messy bastard with piles of rubbish piling up at the top of his driveway.

You'd have though with all that money he'd have a cleaner to clear up his shite.

Donkey of the first order. No thanks

He is a mercenary!! Can you not see that?

You are correct. He decided to come to us because he could only collect half of what he was offered by the scum. That is what mercenaries do isn't it?

Oh, sorry, I thought you wrote missionary.

Blackburn captain Chris Samba has repeated his desire to quit Ewood Park after claiming he does not want to be part of the club under new owners Venky's.
One of the first things the India-based poultry firm did on taking over was sack Sam Allardyce and give his job to then coach Steve Kean.
In the days after, Samba was quoted as saying he was ready to hand in a transfer request, although Kean confirmed only last week that had not happened.
Since then the club's owners have hit the headlines again by going public with ambitious bids to sign AC Milan forward Ronaldinho and take former England captain David Beckham on loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Samba has expressed his dismay at Venky's handling of matters at the club and believes it is now time to leave.
"This is my fifth season here. I've had ups and downs but today I don't want to waste any more time," said the centre-back, who is set to return after a three-match injury-enforced absence to face Liverpool at home tomorrow.
"New owners have arrived, they have fired the coach when he saved us from relegation two years ago.
"The least they could have done is come to us and explain their project. They haven't done that, it's a lack of respect. I don't want to be part of it."
Samba also expressed his suspicion that Kean would be given the transfer funds to make Blackburn the top-five club which the owners believe is possible.
"He (Kean) told me had resources to build a good team. We'll see," Samba told L'Equipe.
"Today I want to go higher and I wonder if Blackburn can take me there. I'll take time to think."
Kean, to his credit, has stressed he needs to build a side on solid foundations rather than parachuting in marquee names.
However, Samba's comments are not helpful to him as he seeks to halt a run which has seen his side take four points from the last five matches.
"The way we are with injuries at the moment and the stability of the squad hopefully we can add four or five other players and then if we can get another big name like that (of Ronaldinho) it will be the icing on the cake," said the Rovers boss.
"Once we can get all the injured players back we can get up into a bracket where we are solid and looking to push beyond the top 10 and then you can attract players easier.
"If we can get stable and into the top 10 we can then look forward to the next transfer window.
"When we spoke with the owners we said if there was a potential marquee player - and there are four or five that spring to mind and two have been mentioned in Ronaldinho and David Beckham - we would love to have them here.
"If we can get solid, reliable foundations and then sprinkle a little bit of magic on top of that then fantastic but it certainly comes from a solid base.
"But trying to bring someone of that calibre to the club is fantastic and shows our intention to be active in this transfer market."
Anuradha Desai, chairman of Venky's, went public with their plans to sign the 30-year-old Ronaldinho with the lure of a £20million-plus three-year contract.
"He is keen to play in the EPL (English Premier League) and I think that goes in our favour," she told BBC Radio Lancashire, stressing the Brazilian's wages would not be a problem.
"To be precise [it is] 7.6million euros (£6.5million) for the first year and about 8.5million euros (£7.2million) for the second and third years."
Desai also said the club had made attempts to secure former England captain Beckham on loan from the Galaxy, adding that the club were "open whenever he is ready to come".
