Can we take a moment to laugh heartily at Everton?

I watched Melissa Reddy lay into the Premier league for entertaining 777's takeover. Citing their comments about fans being customers who can be commercialised. She also laid into the sportswashers.

I haven't listened to her before. She's excellent.

They may sack Dyche get the new manager bounce and be right back in relegation zone within 2 weeks. They are going down this year along with Burnley and Luton

I would love that, but there are some seriously shit teams in the PL this season who will prevent this from happening. Luton are already gone, and they will be joined by two of the following Sheff Utd, Wolves, Burnley or Bournemouth.
I think Bournemouth will stay up, as will Wolves. It's Luton and two of the others for me.

Too early to say who will and won’t go down imo. Luton and Sheffield United are most likely, but there’s a lot can change between now and the run in. None of them have sacked their managers yet, or panicked and bought players in January.

Whoever buys Everton won’t want them getting relegated to protect their investment. Even if 777 come in with the goal of flipping the club once they’ve got the stadium finished, they’ll need them in the PL to get full value. They‘ll need to spend in January.

Woeful...

You say woeful but..... That graphic is basically the same stat viewed from four different angles.

If they'd scored those 11 'big chances' they would have scored more goals, have a higher shot conversion rate and they'd be over performing their xG.

If anything it suggests they've been playing better than their points total suggests and if they start converting the chances they create they'll start getting results. I'd be more worried for them if they weren't creating those chances.

The British Basketball League is "seeking legal advice regarding solvency which will become a major issue should funds not be forthcoming, leading to immediate administration" as the league's co-owners, 777, have missed several payments.

UK Sport and the British government are monitoring the situation as public funding was provided for the BBL during Covid while the sport's governing body, the British Basketball Federation, has launched a review of 777's ownership of the BBL.

Meanwhile, 777's sister companies are facing allegations in the US of fraud, offering illegal loans and failing to pay bills.

777 are Everton's prospective owners.

As much as I dislike Everton fans it's criminal the Premier League's going to ignore these red flags and wave the takeover through.

They can't ignore them can they?

Tbh the fit and proper test is about money and if this lot are as bad with it as your post suggests they surely can't pass.

Anyone else not in the mood to laugh at Everton - big club, big fan base and history, run into the ground by a series of appallingly incompetent decisions.

Fee sorry for them really

If you're going to allow murderers and torturers in, the bar is so low it's effectively on the ground.

Sad news. Never understood why he stayed in the job for so long when results clearly didn’t go his way and was vilified by the majority of the Everton fans.

Been on their board since 1989, clearly just loved it and couldn't help himself. Infact;

Actor Sir Ian McKellen: "...Yet every chat would veer round to his equal passion - Everton."

The difference between the top and bottom of the league is getting wider and wider, this year there are some pretty terrible teams in the league. Everton will go down and really struggle to come back up and stay up.
