Ok i remember him mentioning CCV, but can't remember the context.

He said that every Scottish reporter that he talked to mentioned CCV as one that could make the move back to Spurs/PL. He said don't be surprised to see him playing in the league very soon. He also mentioned those same reporters asking Gold why would our club sell CCV due to how quality he has been there.

Context around it was they mentioned: Hatate, Kyogo, and CCV as the three they could see slotting right into PL, and he was surprised Jota wasn't mentioned.

Lol I’m not having it that Sanchez is that much slower than Dier.
Got a feeling they never updated their figures from 2015 when Dier was the fastest at the club apparently, but faster than Lennon back then????

Meh, not exactly a deep dive, but the boy had speed. 8 years on might have an affect though!

Eric Dier would probably look like a colossus in the SPL. I hope Postecoglou realizes this.

Find it amazing that so many people instantly write him off based on his history in our youth setup.

From memory he was highly regarded as a prospect but unable to break into the first team due to Jan & Toby being nailed on starters.

From what I hear he’s developed into a handy defender and improved a lot with the extra game time. I’d rather him than taking a punt on Maguire or Lenglet

By all accounts he’s been excellent in that league. Celtic fans can’t believe we sold him.

There were dozens of people with Celtic mates when Ange was linked. Someone send up their equivalent of the bat signal and get some opinions.

From a point of view of "would rather he be a backup than Tanganga if we need to dot some HG players throughout the squad", then I can see that it makes some sense. He's at least played a lot of games at a better level than he had done for a couple of years now, so will actually have developed and improved.

But I cannot see that he'd be happy coming back to Tottenham knowing that there are players again in front of him and he ideally won't be playing.

All I’d say is that Sanchez and Dier would probably be the two best CBs in the SPL if they were to move there…

Reading some of the reactions here to this link within this thread bizarre and largely uninformed.

CCV cannot handle big PL strikers and isnt good enough...

Rewind, 3 yrs back... CCV on loan helped Bournemouth with playoff push. In playoff semis, CCV absolutely bossed Ivan Toney in 1-0 first leg and got rave reviews.

2nd leg, Bournemouth were leading tie 2-0, only for a bad penalty call and CCV partner CB making a suicidial red card tackle as a last defender within 30min...CCV again battled through the game but in end lost the tie. In both games, he kept Toney in his pocket overall.

In his 2019/20 season, he was pulled out in Jan and sent to Luton Town on loan who were bottom of championship.
Luton Town before CCV: 0.83 points/game 2.17 goals allowed/game 24th place-6 pts below safety
Luton Town during CCV: 1.59 pts/game 1.12 goals allowed/game 20th place-2 pts above safety

This Wyscout data of 2019/20 season will see a certain CCV having far better aerial & ground duels rate than other our signing Rodon & a certain 50m PL buy Ben White.

So, when I see , CCV levels is just Celtic , he is not good enough, thats nonsense.

CCV vs Tanganga, CCV never got a PL chance while Tangaga has had 50 Tottenham games to his name.

IMO, CCV is levels & levels above Tanganga or Rodon. He is better than Sanchez & Dier as a organising CB.
His ball playing ability is superb.

If someones going to say, CCV cannot improve our current squad, they better come with some evidence.

Whereever CCV been, if he is trusted and given opportunity he has repaid the faith whether its rescuing Luton or
helping Bournemouth with playoff push or Celtic.

I doubt CCV will want to leave Celtic anyway and come to us....But if he does, I wouldnt say no to him.
