At the risk of cutting my nose off to spite my face, I wouldnt have him back. The complete disrespect he showed our club was unforgivable in my opinion. While we're thinking about re-signing him I see Sol Campbells available on a free, lets get him back too!

Spot on - my opinion exactly!

There's no going back when you show our club such behaviour!

My black book:
Sol Campbell
Dimitar Berbatov
Hossam Ghaly

Absolutely not! He's been utter garbage since he went to Man Utd.

Besides which they won't sell him in my opinion.

No thanks. Berbatov's lazy game doesn't fit with Redknapp's 100% effort he requires from players.

Knowing our luck they'll come in for Modric and we'll get that stroppy lazy tosser as a make weight....

I'd bend over for Wenger to see him back at the club.

An awesome player who (with a Huddlestone upgrade at CM as well) would turn us into a title challenging side.

1) As has been said already, he showed way too much disrespect to ever be invited back at the Lane, and just in case anyone has forgotten: this man began agitating for a move to OT when he had been at the Lane for half a season; Fergie was told the price, he offered two thirds of it and tried to bluff us into selling; Berbagits refusal (REFUSAL) to play strengthened Fergie's hand in this and could have cost our club over £10 million, at a time when his first loyalty, no matter where he wanted to play, should have been to his present employers; in his combo with Fergie he was IMHO partially responsible for our dreadful start to the season (refused to play, left insufficient time to strebngthen, etc.);

2) It is correct to say he hasn't been great at UNited, but nor has he been amazing;

3) It really makes me laugh that at the time of his move becoming a real possibility I said that there was no way the Mancs would accept his shruggy-shouldered, "I don't start playing until after Christmas", "he's not lazy, he's languid", style.

4) If it was to be judged just on playing ability, I would have him back i a flash.

Either you are very young or you began supporting Spurs this century.
Or maybe both?

How do you tell people who their favorite players are? I like Fruend more than Carr. No one can tell me I am wrong.

We sold him to Man Utd for a club record fee for a very VERY good reason.

I was born in 1990. Name me a better player in my time who was better than Berbatov?

Ginola is my favourite but he wasn't as good as Berba. Klinsmann...well I was too young and he was only here for a season.

Berba is the only player who has ever made me think 'how did he just do that!?' and that sums him up!

I'm 10 years older and Gazza was the only player I've seen in all that time who was better than Berbatov.

Berbatov surpasses Klinsmann and Ginola in terms of their Spurs careers (though Klinsmann had the best overall career playing in 4 top European leagues and doing it on the world international stage, he just didn't play for us at his peak).

Waddle was better than him I would very strongly suggest...his last season especially was quite extraordinary....

You didn't say favourite (subjective) you said best (objective) and the two are not the same...

F**k him!
I wouldn't have him back. The way he treated the club - for over a year - was disgusting! Talented, without question. Would he suite the type of football (fast) Harry is trying to create, I'd say no.
This frustrates me - we all think we are a big club, yet time after time so many of us pine in a way that shows we aren't that big anymore. Which other top club (anywhere in Europe) would have a player piss em about the way he did us and welcome him back? I can't think of any!

Would be quite torn if he did come back, the way he handled trying to get his move was massively disruptive and disrespectful, but I can't help but think that if he did come back and then played like he did for us the first time round I'd have to forgive him eventually - he was pretty special.

The way he treated our club - have him back - well course we would - what did he do then want a move to a title chasing club? we made 20m give or take from the transaction - that was good business.

Sadly he has been good for united he was their best player on Sunday and united fans who want shot are mostly stupid - but then we knew that anyway - my view is he was a good player for - we made 20m and he went the way of carrick - he won't be the last mover to OT if we not make top4 either - remember good players want to win things - loyalty is non existent except in those that cannot move

But has he really? He has performed well below par for a player that cost 30 milion quid imo.

The short answer is yes but if I really think about it....yesssssss! I have a theory that says that United are just too dominant for Berbatov to thrive. He needs space and did much of his work for us when he picked up the pieces as the opposition attack broke down. At United they tend to camp in and around the opposition box and space is at a premium. He tends to be parked by the penalty spot waiting for the ball to come across....standing in a crowd. We are not as dominant as that and generally teams do attack us.
The redcafe thread on Berbatov should be read by people in this thread.....it shows how divided opinion is on him.....some saying he was mom against Leeds and others saying he was a waste of space. For me he would undoubtedly take our team to another level .....we might even win the League. The only way they would deal with us on this one would be in a swap for Modric:eek:mg:

I think some people have too short memories, he REFUSED to play for us and to further that insult he was sent to manchester to hold talk with Man City after we acceted a £38million bid from them, and he had the audacity to go to Utd instead to talk about a move he did not have permission for... costing us £7million in transfer fees and making a mockery of our management as he paraded round with the red nosed **** laughing and joking.

Ghaly did less and got a lot more shit.... Berbatov's betrayal was up there with Campbell...

One last thing, Ginola was our shinning light when it was truly dark days at the lane, so his contribution to our side easily surpasses berbatov's; who played in a side of very capable footballers where as Ginola did not
