It was one of those games when Benny looked like he had swallowed half a bottle of valium before putting his boots on. Happened a few times with us as well. Depends on what type of club we want to be. If we want to progress then this likeable clown should not be part of the future.
Was that the one where he got skinned down by the touchline? Just saw him getting owned by Reading - badly at fault yet again. Used to rate him but he's not very good any more. Not a PL quality player.Terrible from BAE.
On loan at QPR and he can't even play well. He got torn to pieces by McCleary against Reading at the weekend. Positioning is all wrong, doesn't know when to engage or when to back off. Gets caught too far forward and makes no concerted effort to get back. And don't even get me started on his attitude and mentality.
I loved him under Redknapp, when he was at his peak. He played (very) well for us in 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12. But now he is soooo bad. An average Championship left-back at best - as he is proving this season.
I don't understand why people want him back at the club, let alone rate him higher than Rose. To cap it all off, he was disrespectful towards AVB on so many occasions and he felt the need to post a picture laughing at Spurs' defeat to Liverpool.
I never want to see him in a Spurs shirt again. Rant over.
Wage rape.Takes his wages under false pretences.
I don't think I'd be motivated to put in best efforts if I'd been farmed off to the Championship for no good reason either tbh.
It's not like he's a youngster, the guy was a senior and respected member of the squad.
Some players might try and prove the parent club wrong, but yes it does appear that unless he was a complete dick behind the scenes he has been a bit hard done by.
We don't have any other left backs in the squad, and our one left back is both inconsistent and injury prone. Despite this we keep him loaned out there at QPR.
I'm not sure it's an excuse for him not to put the effort in, but the whole thing is a bit odd.
