I feel like if we want him we need to act now. Great defender and will surely have a fair few offers, a lot of which will probably be a better prospect than us

I think it’ll drag on a little bit tbh. Yes we need to act fast, but he doesn’t.

And links to players like Theate imply we are working on lining up some alternative options in the meantime. It all sounds very sensible - but let’s see what we can actually pull off.

Possibly, though the original itk on this said we’d be looking at Laporte and one other.

My main option if Kane would go would be to go all in on Tomori, Insane that he does not start for England. Are both able to play right/left sided, quick, smart and could for me be cap potential.

Do you think if he goes to roma we won’t look another?
Theate, kilman, even ibanez at Roma could be an option as a backup

I think Ibanez would be a smart signing. Could... COULD prove to be a smarter one in terms of a rebuild compared to Laporte.

Laporte is class and I would take him every day of the week, but definitely wonder if he'll want to stay around for a season or two to really steady the ship and get back into Europe. Or will he take a sure thing if someone else comes in with an offer.

Of course we'll look for another,I was replying in relation to the first CB ITK, which was Laporte and Ndicka.

If we were to sign Ibanez with the intention of having him and Romaro as our 1st choice pairing . They would hardly play much together anyway as one if not both will pick up bookings and bans regularly.
Ibanez likes a tackle and a card as much as romaro does

Happy if we can get Laporte but Edmond Tapsoba is the one we should probably be going all out for.

Mobile, strong 1 on 1, excellent on the ball, can play LCB or RCB equally as well.

More chance of getting him too I reckon.

He’s 29, right? This will be his last ‘big team’ contract before he retires in Saudi Arabia or MLS.

We are looking for a starting LCB to play alongside a very good RCB in Romero. We would be willing to pay him very well.

Doesnt seem impossible.

No news on this so far, you’d think that if this is a top priority option in a top priority position, we’d hear more of it ala Raya 🤔

Yeah I think it’s a big ask for him to drop down to us. Were we in the champions league I could see it but if not I’m not sure. I suspect we’d pay him a decent amount but it’s a big investment in a player with no resale value and that’s how levy will probably see it.

Bet he'd have been happy enough on our side in plenty of our recent encounters v Man City though.
