Eriksen and lamela will now be developed properly into this team.

I heard this a few weeks ago but thought I was bullshit and it still probably is but here goes.

A work colleague of mine is a die hard City fan and knows a few agents, in particular one who represents a certain Mr. Mancini.

He has actually told me just before Harry went that Levy is a big fan of Mancini and recently after the 6-0 hammering that the call had been put in to Mancini's agent just to put the feelers out.

At the time I thought it was bullshit and that Avb would be here until at least Christmas but now I have an uneasy feeling about it.

He does chat a fair amount of crap so hopefully it's bullshit but he definitely knows agents in the game.

Mancini won the league with City. I'll certainly take him.

So...............we didn't spend 60 more million than the Saints? Like the money for Lamela, and Soldado were like Monopoly money?......Levy simply passed "GO" and collected on Pall Mall?

Answer me this question (a better / worse answer will suffice).

If we didn't spend a penny of the Bale transfer money, would the club be 88 million pounds better off or worse off?

I dont understand the question? We bought 7 players totalling 110 million and sold 7/8 players totalling 112million.

Im just trying to understand why people keep using spending as a stick to beat him with when he hasnt really spent any money.

If you sell your shiny new Ford Focus and use the money to buy an Astra and your neighbour keeps his Focus but spends out of his pocket for a Corsa as a second car which one of you has been spending?

I dont think its the spending more the fact we produced about 3-4 watchable performances in a season and a half. And then started getting beat 5 -6 nil.

When Sherwood was a player he wasn't afraid to challenge a flawed system. He's been with us behind the scenes for a while, not a bad position to come from when managing a situation. He's seen our young crop of players progress and and few of them are knocking on the door, again not a bad situation to be in. He seems fairly open and practically minded, he played in a similar style.

Guardiola was similar, he had the club identity, he'd learned different football cultures from the likes of Venables & Robson as a player and Biesla as Manager. But he had his own ideas because he played with his eyes open. He oversaw the youth at Barca and saw that though and the rest is history.

Sherwood wasn't in peps class as a player, I ain't saying he'll do the same as a manager, I'm saying I think he's thought about it. & he knows us. It's why as a player I always preferred him to Freund who used to put more effort in bless him (and sometimes that's what's needed) but I always have a bias towards those that let their brains do the work their legs could also do.

All I'm gibbering about is maybe Sherwood is actually in a decent place to step in. He seems to have his own ideas, and they seem to have a practical basis but to get to the position he has, must also understand the need to consider others views, otherwise he wouldn't have got to the position he finds himself in. You have to be adaptable in football. He's also unlikely to get precious about stuff, he'll treat his players as men so long as they deserve that. Trust them to think for themselves on the pitch. & that's probably what they need.

Please God, no.

I just want someone to come in and actually play some fucking football. Mancini isn't going to do that, and nor will Capello.

If i had my way it would have been an object considerably bigger than a stick my friend.......oh and he has spent money and i will drop the subject now because you obviously have trouble with math.

I hope so. Lamela, Eriksen and Holtby are the only players in the squad with any real passing ability at least 2 of them should be in the team (if not all three).

While far from playmaker, Gylfi can pick a pass too. Capoue has at least rep to be able to give some nice long passes from the deep.

We added 110m worth of players to out squad.
We did have a net spend of -2m but we still bought 110m worth of players.
Your argument would only be valid if our net spend was achieved by selling a player and simply pocketing the cash.

Thats fine, i dont really agree but i can see people having that opinion. The spending is just a misnomer drummed up by the media.

Correct it's a figment of everyone's imagination, smoke and mirrors, one day Levy unlocked the gates at WHL and their behold was Lamela, Coupe, Eriksen, Paulinho, Chadli, and Chiriches all with free of charge stamped on their passports.

This is the kind of attitude that I don't get. I'm not particularly enamoured by the 'thought' of Sherwood as a boss, why would I be? But if we were to play well and win the next two games, why shouldn't he be given to the end of the season? Is there some law against it?

Besides, playing well would be an improvement on anything we've seen this season so far, unless we were playing a bunch of retired Haggis farmers from Eastern Europe, then we looked like world beaters.

Harsh, i think those Haggis farmers are still part time..
