I know, but come on... it's like the whole Fergie wanting to win games post League win, of course they do, but there is nothing riding on it other than a bit of pride. If you fight and lose, so what... and Pardew's comments mean just that. "I want to fight still, but essentially, no one has to worry about a result".

You cannot tell me that with a 100% committed Arsenal fighting tooth and nail for CL that Newcastle will give as much and it might only be fine margins, but fine margins mean EVERYTHING in sport at the top level.

That is why Wigan are our better hope from a mentality aspect. They will be fighting for their lives, their fans, they want it, they need it. With results going the way they did, they HAVE to win against Arsenal now. It's another cup final with arguably bigger stakes. Do they still believe?

I'm sorry but I believe the Newcastle game is almost a given win for Arsenal, especially as on top of it all Newcastle are crap.

Agree with everything you've written. The only hope with Newcastle is that they might relax and actually remember how to play. ...but it seems unlikely. Especially after they conceded seven at the Emirates.

I'm not banking on Wigan either, I bet they are emotionally spent after the result on Saturday.

Yep, total agreement.
In fact, maybe our only hope is Arsenal beat Wigan and then the Newcastle game is an odd affair and somehow the barcodes fluke it, but I just don't think the sporting gods are going to be kind to us this year.

I fear Wigan are spent, they will fight, but I fear the FA Cup win will be their parting shot to the EPL.

When Southampton equalised against Sunderland on Saturday. Sunderland went from 11th in the live table to 17th.

Thats about 6 Million in prize money.

Newcastle could finish 10th or as low as 17th, (about 7 Million in prize money) I'm sure Mike Ashley will remind Pardew what needs to be done.

EDIT: I've looked it up and the difference between 10th and 17th is a shade over £5 Million, still sure Ashley would rather have it (could be enough to get Carroll back)

To be cheated once (food poisoning on the last day) i can just about take, to be cheated twice ( adebayor had 3 clear goals disallowed & chelsea fluking the champions league) is an absolute disgrace but to be cheated three times ( arsenal have picked up at least 15 pts due to corruption and chelsea getting 18 penalties to our 0) is totally unheard of and should be investigated but wishful thinking again on my part.

Jesus... How old are you?

We don't get penalties because our players flee from the penalty box like a gay man flees from pussy. I can't remember a single scenario that was a dead on penalty that wasn't given for us this year.

Apparentely it's Harpers last game after 20 years at Newcastle - hopefully it will inspire him to put in a man of the match performance.

Would be amazing for him to play a blinder and keep Arsenal out

Arsenal are 4/7 to win away at Newcastle

Newcastle who are at home, are a massive 5/1
