I thought he had pretty much already signed for Roma!?

Last week :

Milik nearly signed for Roma. Dzeko nearly signed for Juve. But, Juve were also trying for Suarez...
Suarez was taking Italian exam for passport

This week :

Atleti wants Suarez on free. Juve wants Morata. So, Dzeko & Milik deal is in limbo

Today :
Italian police are investigating whether Suarez cheated in his Italian citizenship exam :ROFLMAO:. I guess, now we know why Suarez move broke down.
Barca will try hard to block Suarez move to Atleti. Barca Included a clause in Suarez contract that said Suarez couldn't join United, City, Real, PSG. Left Atletico off it. Now, Barca backtracking. ??‍♂️

So ,back to Milik anything can happen. Everything is tied. Milik is on last year of his deal. Napoli owner will not let Milik leave on free. So, Milik will be sold.

Daniel Levy sitting in his evil villain chair, taking all this transfer circus in...on final day moves for the striker. This is the script I see.

Milik, for some, would most likely feel a let down from some of the other names we've been linked too.

Dzeko to Juve then - they aren't signing Suarez apparently not sure they need him - the American lad they signed from Schalke who we were supposed to be interested had a really good debut the other night incidentally Ramsey was also pretty good and there was a moment in the game where Ronaldo jumped so high I thought he had springs on his feet

Morata soon to do medical at Juve.

So that means Dzeko stays at Roma and Milik has to find a different club.

I suppose being in last year of his deal it could be relatively cheap to do?

I'd still personally prefer other strikers but if Milik is who Mourinho wants them I'm on board.

I always got the impression Milik didn't especially want to come to us and we weren't keen to meet his wage demands.

I wonder if the arrival of a certain Welshman and Reguilon, plus a 5-2 drubbing, may have influenced his opinion a little. We're definitely a more attractive and ambitious looking club than we were a week ago.

If it's anything from Sunday's game that might sway his opinion, it's the fact that Kane got those 4 assists. Probably for the first time, strikers can see that they can play with Kane, not instead of him.

That could mean a different pitch to any striker, but any striker worth his salt will question his move to Tottenham right now, because Kane is the undisputed number one. If he's healthy, he plays.

So Suarez cant join Juve, His club don't want him to join Atleti, He's a clever bastard, and he's free and younger than LLorente was and ten times the player. even if we don't have an interest why isn't the media putting Levy's name all over this.

It would actually be fascinating to see how Kane plays if another striker comes in that he deems to be a genuine threat. Not that Kane has any chance of being dropped, but with Janssen and Llorente it wasn't even a remote consideration.

Some true competition might give him the extra push to reach even greater heights.

I won't lie, seeing the Morata to Juve confirmation did pique my curiosity a bit. It seemed that Dzeko to Juve and Milik to Roma was all but signed and delivered, but if it's officially off we could do something quite shrewd here with Milik.

Especially given that new #9 of ours coming off the right flank I think having a forward who is a good passer and intelligent player becomes even more of a key. Seeing how Kane played 4 brilliant assists on Sunday with relative ease, and imagining a horrifying creative situation when Lo Celso/Tanguy might be unavailable made me think Milik could be a big time option. The reason I say this is he's the closest thing to a 9/10 hybrid that we've been linked to, as I alluded to in my post earlier in the thread...

Tall and great hold up player, unselfish with great vision and likes to drop deep - I think that could be an excellent fit with Bale and Son being near strikers. As I said, I really think he's the most talented striker we've been linked to.

Milik is a weird one. In the above article I linked it seems he was in a transfer triangle with Juve and Roma, basically showing him to be Dzeko's replacement only (i.e. Roma wouldn't buy without first selling Dzeko). Juve I think set their transfer targets by who is available on a free so want Suarez+I don’t think Pirlo likes Milik.

However ADL has been super consistent in saying Milik will be sold, he’s a shrewd guy and almost never lets players go on a free. He will go somewhere this summer.

FWIW he has a lot of class, but not a lot of pace. Style wise, not necessarily quality, it’s like Giroud mixed with Benzema: big, left footed and occupies space, but also a really outstanding playmaker and intelligent player. He reminds me of Lamela on the ball almost, they have that upright left-footed style and like to turn and face the goal. Sometimes he looks like a #10, really good vision and passing and a nice shot on him from outside the area. I think he could really excel as a playmaker interplaying with Kane or a central striker with Son/Bergwijn off of him. What’s weird is that is almost the complete opposite of someone like Daka, Watkins, or Callum Wilson who like to use their pace and play off the shoulder. It’s not that I don’t want Milik, he’s the most talented striker we’ve been linked to, it just seems odd compared to our other targets.
