Real only beat them 3-0 at home, can't be that shit. Was 0-0 at HT
Surely this must be a tongue-in-cheek comment? Or are you seriously judging a team based on how big or narrow the loss was? Your info is also incorrect, as Ronaldo scored after 11 minutes.

They had 27 shots, so I think it's fair to say it could have been a lot worse for APOEL.
Agreed, and they didn't even fire a shot for the last ten minutes of the match, indicating that they slowed down and couldn't even be bothered.

These games are never easy. We have to win and should, but I highly doubt it will be a walk in the park.

Believe me, we could field our U18 team and beat them. They're shit.
They are absolutely not. We cannot underestimate them. They knocked Athletic Bilbao out of the Europa League last season and came first in a group featuring olympiacos.

You would think with our Uefa cup/Europa League experiences we would be able to recognise the organisational and under acknowledged ability of the more unfashionable teams in Europe.

The last time we played a cypriot team (AEL Limassol) in Cyprus we won 2-1 but were very close to losing the game, only late goals from Soldado and Kane. Considering that AEL team was and is much worse than this APOEL team I don't think a youth team could take them on!

And we had 26 shots against Swansea but never really got that close to scoring.

They also struggled in the CL qualification vs. giants like Rosenborg and New Saints (if you haven't heard of the latter, they are Welsh), before final elimination by the hands of the infamous Copenhagen. During the EL group stage, they lost matches to other high-profile squads such as FC Astana (a team you remember hearing about only if you play football manager).
Lastly, based on the line-up vs. Real Madrid, only the goalie and two CMs from the team that beat Bilbao are likely to play.
There is no excuse tonight. Only a win is good enough.

Is there no radio coverage of this game this evening? I can't see that there is.

Don't think people are saying a draw is good, but it's a CL night in Cyprus. Historically, we are not the team that just wipes the floor with lesser units when abroad. We have struggled in fact so take it for what it is, a CL game where you should never judge the compitiion lightly.

Firstly they didn't struggle against Rosenborg and New Saints, they won both those ties with an aggregate score of over two goals difference. Secondly there is a big difference in a team being set up to dominate the game and one to counter and be organised.

Copenhagen and Astana are actually perfect examples of why we need to be absolutely focused on the task in hand. Copenhagen only lost one game in the Champions League groups last season. Meanwhile Astana, who the season before meeting APOEL in the Europa League, were unbeaten at home in a group in the champions league with Athletico Madrid, Galatasary and Benfica.

We need to be focused, particularly away from home, or we could end up with a bloody nose.

From BBC Sport:

  • Apoel have lost 10 of their past 12 Champions League games (W1 D1). They have also failed to score in 10 of their past 13 outings, remaining goalless in each of their most recent five games.
  • Apoel have never kept a clean sheet at home in the Champions League group stages (nine games).

annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd cue Spurs.

It wont be easy because they'll be on huge bonus's (by their own standards) if the can get any points. They'll run themselves into the ground.
