Rudiger falsely accused ME of racism and then when these allegations were not proved described ME as “poor people”.

Now you might say that his allegations were directed at the Spurs crowd not me specifically but I was sitting amongst the section of the Spurs crowd that he falsely accused of racism so that it was me and my friends and family and fellow supporters who he was accusing.

No, he wasn't.

Whoever he (probably mistakingly) thought was making monkey noises. If you weren't making monkey noises, he wasn't accusing you of anything.
He accused Spurs fans like me, sitting next to me, of making monkey noises when nobody was making any such noises. I take that personally.

Clearly if someone had been engaged in racist behaviour then that would be completely different but nobody was.

If he wasn’t accusing me and people like me of racism, who was he accusing?

So what if he was accusing you? He thought he heard something and talked about it. As you're saying and as has been said in trial, nothing was found to be the case. So it seems like he misheard stuff. End of.

Why is being accused of racism such an offence to you? Especially if, as you say, nothing happened?

I've largely been staying away from this thread cause one look into it and it was a mess with this racism stuff. If it was just people talking about his character cause of the Son sending off then that's a fine football reason. But so many seem to dislike him because he thought he heard something racist? How does that make him a bad person? Why is it bad he misheard something?

To bring this back to a football point though, I think he's a good player. Chelsea's best CB easily. Is he the CB that will completely change us and take us to the next level? Maybe not. But he's easily good enough to play in our team and be a very decent option for us. And as much as I love Dier, Sanchez, Toby, Tanganga... none of them are so clear or Rudiger or even close to that that I wouldn't be fine seeing Rudiger in our line up.

As for the Son sending off etc... I'm okay with that. It's kinda going into what Jose seems to want/what we've been missing. We're too nice. So if we get a player who's not as nice I'm here for it.

Nobody dislikes him because he thought he was racially abused and reported it. Not one person. At least not anyone posting thread.

I can't believe someone who was just in the general vicinity of where Rudiger thought he heard monkey noises actually takes his comments personally. Utterly bizarre.

You are also basically implying that Rudiger deliberately made false claims, and it's sad yet unsurprising that people think that.

curlacious

Don’t look at me. I’m irrelevant.

He was accusing those in the crowd he THOUGHT were making racist chants, not the whole crowd. He may have got it wrong, but he thought he heard something and rightfully voiced it. He was then booed after the investigation found nothing and spoke about that, saying “it’s sad” and “poor people” for booing. I agree - it IS sad people booed.

Second page of this thread you have people joking about 'why he'd want to join a racist club' etc...
Whilst 'banter' and all that, it's still that their first thought on him is that racism claim and even as a joke still hold it against him. And No, not a moot point cause it keeps coming up. It keeps being a thing. I'm sick of it but it needs to be talked about. Especially when people are taking just the 'accusation' of being called racist personal.

Ermmmm, you sure you've read every post in this thread?
I’d be the first to call someone out on a post which condemned a man for reporting suspected racist abuse, i say that as someone who almost got in a punch up with one of our own fans for racially abusing Son up at Stoke several years ago with DVD and cat eating comments.

Just because you don’t want to sign him you don’t have to blindly believe this is just a tactic to put pressure on Inter when we very evidently have held or still hold interest.

I think people are taking it personally because after the investigation found no evidence, he then said our fans in the away game were booing him because he reported it, when he had no way of knowing that, especially given that booing opposition players at rivals who have got your own players sent off is one of the most common things in football.

No, literally read this page. Someone literally said they took being accused of racism personally.

Agree. It’s people like that who hounded the Ferdinands, decent people who probably don’t understand how much it hurts. It may not have happened, but the feeling hit him then. Personally think he’s decent but the fans will never ever take to him because of the mentality we Have.
