Annoying Gooners

Am i the only one who finds the 'reserve team' excuse from Arsenal a little annoying?!

Yes they didnt play 2 or 3 first team players on the field but how many of this so called reserve team on tuesday actually play in the Arsenal reserves week in week out?!

When we outplayed Arsenal in the league without King, Dawson, Bale, Jenas, Zokora and with a full debut from Jamie O'Hara, did we complain that we didnt have our full strength team?!

Why can't most Gooners admit defeat gracefully and why cant their manager and team do the same without fighting or making excuses

Just print out the below and give it to them. Nicked from COYS

1) The average age of the gooners 14 players used was 22.8, for spurs 25.8. So yes they were a little younger.

2) The goon starting XI cost £51m to Spurs £39m. including the 3 subs used this becomes £62m arse to £53m spurs.

3) The 14 players used by spurs have started 279 games between them this season, the gooners 14 have started 214 between them.

4) There were 11 players out of the 14 for Arsenal who have full international caps. Spurs had only 10.

5) The total caps held by the 14 goons is 261 (hardly kids eh!) to spurs 341.

6) 2 players for the goons have won the world cup, thats pretty good for experience.

We beat, no slaughtered, a good Arsenal team. Not their best, but a good Arsenal team, peppered with experience, that cost "the greatest transfer bargain hunter in the world, ever, in the history of football that started the careers of every great player for Pele to Rooney" (copywrite skysports) over £60m to assemble.

They should really be thankful to Ramos cause he took Berbs, Keano and Lennon out of pity.It could've been like 6-0 so stfu and go play your "second" team in the league. It's gonna be like last year, out of all 3 cups in less than a month.:beer::beer:

Have you ever met an un-annoying Gooner?

Have some rep.

Seriously though, my boss and also one of my good mates are both gooners.

My boss actually came in on Wednesday morning and shook my hand, said congratulations and said we deserved it and that we played them off the park. Not one mention of reserves, kids, 2nd string. He's a top boss and a top bloke.

My mate isn't annoying either. We just don't speak for a few days either side of any NLD

When they took their "reserves" off for their "big guns" we took our BIG GUNS off and put our ressies on.

Masterly summation. Brilliant! Love it. Have some rep!

ED: It seems I've given you too much rep recently, PT. You're Admin. Surely you can do something about it?

OK, here's my post from a similar thread on FTL:

The more I look into this, the more pissed off I become. I have always maintained that the 'kids' thing is a myth that the Goons use to fool the media. So (forgive me) I went on their site to get some stats. Here's their squad with availability:

1. Jens Lehman - didn't play
2. Abou Diaby - played
3. Bacary Sagna - played
4. Cesc Fabregas - played
5. Kolo Toure - ACN
6. Philippe Senderos - injured
7. Tomas Rosicky - did not play
9. Eduardo - played
10. William Gallas - played
11. Robin Van Persie - injured
13. Alexander Hleb - played
15. Denilson - played
16. Mathieu Flamini - unused substitute
17. Alexandre Song - ACN
19. Gilberto - played
20. Johan Djourou - injured
21. Lukasz Fabianski - played
22. Gael Clichy - didn't play
24. Manuel Almunia - didn't play
25. Emmanuel Adebayor - played
26. Nicklas Bendtner - played
27. Emmanuel Eboue - ACN
30. Armand Traore - played
31. Justin Hoyte - played
32. Theo Walcott - played
Kerrea Gilbert - didn't play
Mark Randall - didn't play

So give or take a goalkeeper, that's only Rosicky and Clichy that could have played but didn't. Am I reading that right? (Flamini was an unused sub Tuesday).

Taking those that were involved on Tuesday and comparing them to the last six Goon teams we have this:

Fulham: 8 of Tuesday's team played.
Birmingham: 10
Burnley (FAC): 9*
West Ham: 8*
Everton: 8*
Portsmouth: 8*

The asterisks denote that Toure and Eboue played, and they were at the ACN on Tuesday.

So what? They leave out two, maybe three of their available first-team players and all of a sudden they're 'kids'? Suggests to me that their squad is pretty thin. But if they want to stuff it with kids nicked from European and African academies that's their look-out.

Cerny, Tainio, O'Hara, Boateng, Huddlestone and even Defoe could be described as our 'squad' players. It's just that ours are better than theirs.

Case closed!

we wouldn't get away with it if we'd played Bale, Kaboul, Stalteri, Bent & Defoe for example... all of whom are arguably 'fringe' players.

Gilberto, Diaby, Fabregas, Sagna, Gallas, Bendtner, Eduardo, Adebayor, Walcott & Hleb are all regular first teamers, most will play in their next CL game.
