Any of you ppl going to Anderlecht away?

Am going a day before and leaving the day after the game and wondered if anyone knows the place well enough to suggest a place to drink/eat/queef without getting hassled by the man*.

Bear in mind that I may also want to avoid a portion of my fellow lilywhites a bit too - after Leverkusen a few years back I was ashamed to be near them, and nearly shopped one of them for being racist to my mate.

*by this I mean your average Anderlecht nutcase neanderthal types who might give me grief for having a Spurs shirt on...

There's about 10 of us going, we're staying pretty central in Brussels near Grand Place. We're a group varying in ages (23-65!), but we've booked a location that's in stumbling distance to irish pubs, sports bars, restaurants, traditional Belgian pubs, night clubs etc to cater for everyone! The older lot in our group aren't that keen on being in pubs full of Tottenham, so I imagine we'll just be doing one large pub crawl as opposed to finding the main pub spurs will be in.

In terms of trouble, my old man said there was a fair bit in the city centre (but he seemed to think from Spurs fans) back when we played them in 07. One of the guys coming with us said he drank before the game in an Anderlecht pub and they were good as gold. I do seem to remember them throwing shit at our players on the pitch though, but I think there was a fairly large police presence so no trouble in or around the ground involving fans.

Should be a good trip, really looking forward to it. Think the points cut off will be very high though, more than the Monaco game anyway.

Im going, my girlfriend is Belgian and parents live there so will get free board. Go pretty regularly, not hard to find a good drinking hole around the centre really. On the whole Anderlecht fans are pretty sedate compared to some, with obvious exception to the die hard fans, on the whole one should be intelligent about how one conducts themselves similar to going to any away match. I think it really depends if you want to go to a football pub or just a good pub.

I sat with a few Brussels Yidos in with the Anderlecht supporters, pretty hostile atmosphere there. Massive difference to the calmness of staying around Brussels

When you stay in Brussels there are so many places to visit and things to do. Many places to eat and drink. If you don't want to be around many of your fellow supporters who will be encamped in one or two pubs from dawn til dusk its very easy to blend in

If your not wearing colours and don't want any hassle, stay away from those who do and use your loaf

Theres 10/11 of us staying a little out in the rougher area of Brussels(stayed there before and keep your wits about you and you'll be fine) the younger group of us will probably be heading to delirium bar afterwards as we were there a year ago and was a great night out.

Have applied for 3 but the cut off for Monaco is 285! I don't have anywhere near that so I think I'm stuffed for Anderlecht. Mind you I did go in '84!

Season tickets with 352 points is the cut off. Thought this one would be high...

Missed out by 200points, not had ST long, oh well, pub it is.

There are loads of pubs/cafes etc in Grand Place. That's where I probably will head to in the afternoon, I get to Brussels at 9 on Thursday.

I'm going to have a couple in the Moeder Lambic Fontainas (missed previously, right next to my hotel) head to Poechenellekelder, both traditional Belgium places, with loads of different beers. Not expecting to see football fans in those. Then I'll head into Grand Place

Anderlecht's ground is about 15-20min tube ride from Grand Place. I've actually been there to watch Anderlecht play a league game a few years back(they lost 0-1). Their supporters had pubs nearer the ground that they visit.

Also being English(8 of us) we were approached by a couple of blokes and informed where the violence would take place if we were interested. When we declined, my mate was talking to one of them for a bit, the Anderlecht fan had 'retired' from that part of the game. He was actually friendly enough, but hearing that goes on has put me off sneaking in the home end.

There's a sports bars and a couple of Irish bars near Grand PLace, so I'll probably watch the game in there, whichever feels safest.
