He's right about everything...but there is still one thing bothering me: the Spammers will seriously struggle to do this, especially if they go down, unless they get major investment. The problem is, of course, that by acquiring the OS they now look a far more enticing project for investment, and, dare I say it, a mega-rich buyer.

Won't ever make retaining the running track a good idea though.

You hit the nail on the head there SP. Something I was thinking as well. If that were to happen the Spammers could do a Chelsea or a City and God forbid, overtake us in the prestige stakes.

Unfortunately I think for W Spam the new financial regs coming in by then will not be making them a decent prospect above us :)

Which is why, in spite of the fact that I am 100% of the opinion that our best option is the NDP or as close to WHL as possible, I just could not understand Spurs fans being so cockahoop about the Spammers winning the OS like it was them personally winning the lottery. Being quietly happy that we 'might not' be moving is one thing; celebrating something that could potentially see us demoted to the 4th team in London is something altogether different.

Hope you are right. But what the new regs will do is prevent huge and immediate expenditure on player purchases and wage bills. They won't disallow slow investment on infrastructural improvements.

if they have to pay back a 80 million pound loan, and are likely in the championship. How on earth are they ever going to pay back this loan???? a bank would never lend a club in the championship 80 million pounds.

I don't think they have an 80m loan. 35m comes from an olympic legacy fund and doesn't need to be paid back. They reckon they've worked out all their sums based on a Championship income. I guess we'll see...

That's why they are so busy now looking for other investors to buy up the Icelandic bank's 35% thereby having money available for this eventuality

Am I the only one who gets a slightly jealous, rather childish, rage, at any mention of Wet Spam winning the OS?

Fuckers.

I hope they go down, go bankrupt, and gold, sullivan and brady all get leprosy, german measles, and ....the mumps.

****s.
