why should spurs fans be happy or welcome a player who pubically turned us down 2 times and then was seen to finally accept after a big wage bump up? i always liked chimbonda to be honest and im sad that this transfer of hutton got completed oh well, hopefully Gunter comes through and can get the position sooner than later.

I don't know about Hutton, only what I've seen since we've been linked. Looks a good attacking player and fingers crossed he'll turn out to be class.

As ever it's a gamble (and quite a hefty one at that) but then so is Woodgate given his recent injury-plagued seasons.

I think we all agree he may turn out to be brilliant and he may turn out to be mediocre... we'll just have to cross our fingers and wait and see!

P.S. Still support Rangers as my Scottish team ever since our links with them back in the 80s (well, them and Hamilton!)

He's got Chimbonda out of a starting spot any sort of good form after that will be a bonus.

Hutton and Bale bombing down the wings is an exciting prospect and if Ledley and Woodgate can stay fit, it should keep the back secure so we can keep pressure on Opp teams

Well I guess all that is left now is to find out how David Pleat pronounces Hutton :)

Yesterday it was Wise gets job at Newcastle that headed SSN even though we'd just spent 8 mil on Woodgate. Tonight it was "Pearce to be involved with England setup" ahead of the 9mil (record scottish outfield player) capture of Hutton.

I have to admit that I have seen hutton a few times (I'm a long lost Jock and Rangers are my scottish team) and have thought he was pretty much of a similar mould to Chimbonda & 9mil seemed steepish but what we are getting is a player marginally less technical, attacks in a more direct kind of style, is more aggresive but still with a modicum of learning to do defensively (but IMO is certainly no worse and maybe better than Chimbonda defensively already - certainly Hutton is more committed when defending) Hutton is a "genuine" footballer who always seems to give 100% and has ability and tenacity. Time will tell if he adjusts to the EPL, but as someone who was an almost lone discenting voice before we signed Chimbonda and was never totaly convinced by Chimbonda 's casual approach to defending at times, I think to have someone as genuine as Hutton shouldn't be a bad thing. (I also hail from a time when no English side was worth a wank without a jock)

Have a little butchers at the Rangers v Celtic highlights. Check out the tackle by Hutton that leads to the second goal around 2min45sec in:

See, even with these reasoned responses from people who have actually seen him play more than once, explaining that although he's got his good points he does have something to learn defensively, and still people will be rating him as our saviour already - this is the kind of thing that drives me nuts. This guy obviously has talent but apathy towards our current fringe players has lead a lot of you to forget that they are very capable and, even if we do lose Chimbonda, the prospect of Salty having to step up doesn't make me tremble with fear and, as we saw the other day, we've still got Lee

our fullback setup is actually looking quite rosey at the moment, with O'hara showing his worth back there, Lee dancing about and doing a fine job on either side, Salty capable if called on and Teemu as cover for... well, anywhere really

Hutton sounds like a good prospect, especially considering we're likely to lose Salty either in the next few days or in the summer, i'd just prefer it if we kept hold of Chimbo as well.

might interest you to know that we looked very flat tonight in our semi-final tongiht. Still won 2-0 but :) Will take a bit of time getting used to life without Alan :(

I actually like the idea of seeing Chimbonda less. He's great in the air, but you can just tell he's not really into Spurs. Which is fine, he has no responsibility to Spurs and he's got his own life to look out for and his future after football, but I, like all fans, like passionate players. And I like that Hutton didn't want to leave Scotland at his boyhood team. It shows he has different priorities in life.

Bollox to that. This is not a job its football, and he has the privilage to put on a shirt and turn out in one of the grandest areanas in the world every week.

On top of that he get paid £1000s of pounds and is supported by 10,000s of yids who dream about doing what he does- and work their balls of to pay, support and watch the performances of his team every week.

If he's thinks he's got no responsbility to the fans then let him f'off to Chelsea so he can get more money for his apparently undervalued time.

This is not about an article in the Sun this is obvious from his attitude. I would rather see him go because no matter how much talent he has there's no questioning he does not give 100% on that pitch.
