I wanted to get your opinions on this.

Although we have benefited from having a powerful number 9, and the presence of such a player fits our system, he hasn't scored enough goals, his touch is erratic at the best of times, and sometimes he switches off. It is a shame we haven't really seen any Adebayor thunderbolts, like he used to score against us too.

On the flip side. He seems to have built a rapport with his team mates, and he does make us a better team.

So, it's a bit of a "stick or twist" scenario really. Having thought about it for a good few weeks, I'd like us to look at cheaper, more promising options in the summer, but if he did stay I wouldn't be gutted by any means.

It's difficult because he often has the touch of a rapist, but on the flip side, he has a winning smile.

Everytime he plays well we win, when he plays average we pretty much always win.

But more importantly, I dont hear a bad word said about him from within the club. In fact its quite the opposite. Team spirit is key, I think he helps with that, despite his reputation

I don't really know what I think about Adebayor.....if only I had another couple of threads similar to this to refer back to.

Pretty much a no brainer for me. I'm not saying he is a world class player and we should still look to buy one or two more strikers, preferably one of whom is capable of scoring 20+ in a season. But Ade is still the best forward we've had since Berba. Having him again next season would at least allow us some breathing space and allow us to take time to consider our options in the transfer market a little better rather than panic buying the first "forward" that is thrown in our direction.

i am not sure i can simply answer yes or no as it depends on the fee and the wages

In an ideal world for footballing reasons Yes - but I voted No as we cannot afford his wages so no matter how much we want it to happen it will not

Yes, while he could score more, we look a totally different team when he plays even moderetly well. But for him to stay we need to keep Bale and Vdv etc as our shape suits him. We need an effective back up though.

It's not hard to find faults with Ade's game but he's the best striker we've had since Berbatov. His goalscoring record is very good, he fits well into our team perfectly and he creates as well.

If City agree to pay part of his wages to get him off their books then we should absolutely do it.

You can't have too many top class players.
'iT'S THE BAD PLAYERS THAT ARE THE PROBLEM'
His return in terms of goals and assists is pretty good and he works hard most of the time.
He's quality and different. I Like to see his name on the team-sheet and his team-mates
seem to like him and he wouldn't need any settling in time.
More sophisticated option than many typical centre forwards, as Berbatov himself was.
Wages are not my problem.

I think what he needs is some competition so that if he's having an off day/month (as we know he is prone to) we have someone else who can come in and fill in. Even when he's pants we're better with him than without him because our other strikers can't hold the ball up for toffee, but if we had a ready made replacement/competition then we'd be much better off.

Get him for another year on the cheap/ loan. Get City to pay his wages.

Get him in! There was a deal on the table rumoured to be £9m + wages.
The wages are now down to Ade.
If he wants £100+ pw - its off to Russia I'm afraid .
