What made Arsene even grumpier

If losing 5-1 at Tottenham and seeing his players scrapping was not enough to put Arsene Wenger in a mood, being sprayed with Spurs' champagne was.
Jermain Defoe burst into the interview room with two team-mates, believed to be Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov, thinking he was about to give Gus Poyet a soaking after watching him on a dressing-room TV seconds earlier.
But by the time he got there, Wenger had replaced Tottenham's assistant boss.
An insider revealed: "Defoe was spraying champagne just like the winner of a Formula One race." But Wenger, who missed the full force of the blast which showered a member of Sky's film crew, saw the funny side after Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli apologised. At least Wenger was gracious in defeat*, unlike Arsenal managing director Keith Edelman, who left the directors' box 20 minutes before the final whistle.
* Okay, so not entirely true, but still...
Also, an anonymous poster on the Harry Hotspur blog gave this entirely uncorroborated but nonetheless hilarious account of a certain Arse-hole's tumultuous journey home:
Adebayor, after his altercation with Bendtner on the pitch, was refused entry onto the Arsenal coach going home. He had to call for a taxi and half way through his journey home, he told the cabbie that he didn’t have any money on him so the driver (who must have been a Spurs fan) brought him back to the Stadium. Adebayor was then to be seen kicking chairs in our reception area having a big hissy fit.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy...:grin:
