in the top flight, I believe. A point tomorrow at the Eel Munchers, with our superior goal advantage, will secure it once again - although obviously not ruling out winning the title.

Previous times:

1921-22 Liverpool champions on 57 pts, Spurs runners-up with 51 pts

1951-52 Man Utd champions on 57 pts, Spurs 53 pts

1956-57 Man Utd champions on 64 pts, Spurs 56 pts

1962-63 Everton champions 61 pts, Spurs 55 pts.

Two of those occasions were within a season of winning the title, one was within two years and one was four seasons before we won. Let's hope it's a good omen

Agreed Roynie let's hope it's a good omen. Obviously finishing runners-up gets you nothing but it would still be only the 5th time in our history underline the gradual improvement from last season when we finished 3rd. It will also hopefully drive us on to finish as champions next year too.

Sadly I rarely get to games these days, living in the west of Ireland, I'd dearly love to have been able to get to tomorrows game and sing at the top of my voice cheering the lads on to secure second. I hope those going give it maximum volume all game!

They'll be wasting their breath, the players won't have a hope of hearing anything from that kind of distance ;)

Would also put us in the Charity Shield for the first time since 1991 if Chelsea beat Arsenal in the FA Cup final

If you threw your mobile on to the side of the pitch, I could ring that and chant. The fans are so far from the pitch they'd be bound to hear me!

Good old 2 points for a win. I read somewhere that if it was still 2 points for a win, we'd currently be 48 points ahead of Chelsea in the title race.

LOL! Actually, if it were 2 points for a win we would only be 1 point behind. They've won 26 Drawn 3 Lost 5 = 55 points; we've won 23 Drawn 8 Lost 3 = 54 points.

AND, you're right, I have waaaaayyy too much time on my hands! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
