we might even get 4th if Villa have a bit of bad luck of their own!

Might “even” get fourth if Villa have a bit of bad luck? We don’t need Villa to have a “bit of bad luck” to finish above them. They’re only two points in front of us. We could be above them as early as this weekend, it’s not like trying to chase down Liverpool.

I’m right in thinking we will likely have a break after our Wolves match of like 2 weeks before we play Palace, right? This is due to the Chelsea match needing rescheduled. That’ll come at a really nice time since Son will get some time off and if Bissouma is still struggling that could be key for him. We just have to hope going back to one match a week for a couple weeks (and pick up 4-6 points) before then will assist us with keeping guys healthy.

It was such a loser way to phrase it as well lol.

Obviously our away game at Villa is a big one on March 10th.

One potential advantage we have here, is that their first leg, last 16, Europa league fixture will be played on Thursday 7th March.

Even better, because they were group winners the home leg is the second tie.

So on the Thursday before our game they'll be away from home.

Do we need the English teams in Europe to go far to stand any chance of 5th getting a CL spot? Should we not make the top 4.

Can still see us being in the battle with Villa, if it comes down to the final few games then I would favour us over them.

I can't see English teams not doing well tbh. English teams are favourites for all 3 competitions. If you look at the market for which country the winner comes from England is the overwhelming favourite in all three comps. That doesn't mean they'll win them but I'd be shocked if at least one of them doesn't win and I wouldn't be shocked if English clubs picked up all three.

Until they meet a Spanish team

As it stands we are a very close 2nd to Germany with Italy close behind us. Spain 4th. Top 2 get the extra spot. We have 6 teams through, all group winners, therefore seeded so will be favourites to all go through.
if 5 of them get through we will be top for the quarter finals.
Just have to support Arsenal for the next round but not much further.
The website For this is kassiesa.net.
The odds are England will get the 5th place.

As Villa go 3-0;down to Chelsea in the cup it appears that they might have shot their bolt. Completely outclassed . Well beat by Newcastle last home game. Commentators obsessed by the fact that they were so good at Sheffield Utd, now wondering why they are so crap. Something to do with how poor Sheffield Utd are.
Villa home to Man Utd on Sunday. We have to take advantage by winning these next 3 home games.
Dont mind Poch doing well for a change, but not too well.!!!

According to that website, we are 3rd behind Italy and Germany.

Sorry. Made an arse of that. Anyway, fractionally behind the Germans. Looking at the standard of teams left in I would still back us to get in the top 2.
The playoffs for last 16 in Europa and conference leagues start next week . It is basically an extra game for some countries which some may see as an unfair advantage. Milan and Roma are involved which might push Italy a bit farther ahead. Or might knock them out.
Watching Villa last night, they have certainly hit a blip. Not impossible for Utd to win on Sunday.

Honestly think if the injuries are behind us we could finish above Arsenal/Liverpool

City will run away with the league as per from here on in IMO

Yeah, I think we'll be close to Arsenal come the end of the season but the variety of attacking options Liverpool have off the bench just edges it for them this season. Next year could be interesting though without Klopp

Next 5
Wolves
Palace
Villa
Fulham
Luton

Tough games for different reason and if they play out like our previous 5 games we can expect some narrow results.

However, I am hoping that this period allows the players to build up the cohesion again and returning players get back to their best.

If we can pick up 10-13 points we will put ourselves in the driving seat for top 4.

But more importantly we become a strong fluid team once again heading into games against WH, Newcastle, City, Arsenal, Pool.

I feel that playing those teams in our current performances will lead to some goals conceded.

So it could be a really good end to the season as long as we get back up to speed.

I am hoping to see a couple of convincing wins before we face Newcastle and City.

I think if we take 12+ Plus points from our next 5, including a win vs them, we will open a small gap.

Penny for the thoughts of Legohead fans. He's spent £600 million in 4 years and only 7% chance of winning the title 😆
600m on 4 years is 150m per year.

We've spent about 230m (according to transfermarkt) this year.

150m per season is about what you need to spend to catch up with Citeh, sadly.
