One person. On here. Who had a silent conversation with themselves. Then quoted themselves.

I am theorising wether Ange prefers sea lions or penguins. 😂

Make that two people. (Although I disagree with him on having Dragusin as the central CB instead of the wide CB)

Gutted for the lad, he misses the rest of the season plus his first senior tournament with Italy. :(

At least when the opposition win the ball back Davies will be more likely to be near his position at full back rather than next to the penalty spot. It’s hardly the end of the world if we lose a full back.

Gutted for Udogie, he's had such a great debut season for us. Hopefully back fit when next season starts.

Massive blow as it's one of the areas in the squad where the drop-off to the replacement is biggest.

Don't get me wrong I love Davies but he's more of a centre back these days and certainly not the sort of left back that our system needs.

I had the same thought whilst out this morning.

Romero and Van de Ven could both play that role comfortably and alternate stepping forward and join the midfield.

Could throw Arsenal a bit of a curveball.

Just don't know how much Ange would need to change the patterns etc that he is trying to drill in but I'd like to see it more than Davies at LB.

Let's be honest, 3 huge tough games where Davies is up against tough wingers/midfielders and players with speed and power, he isn't going to get much joy in 1v1s and we will be easy to shut down on one side

Going to miss him offensively and massively defensively against Saka. I worry Davies will be too respectful of the pace and drop off which will gift them momentum.

Could we put VDV at left back and move Davies inside alongside Romero.

Actually think with VDV's pace, this would make sense.

He'd nullify Saka for sure.

I dont see that as weakening two positions, just using your options effectively.

Ben Davies is about to surprise Spurs fans with how competent he is for the 452nd time
Love Ben Davies and he’s put in great performances for us.

But to put him up against Saka, Salah, Foden and even Madueke in the space of a few weeks would just be negligence on our behalf.

He'd deal with all of them, defensively, better than Udogie would at this stage in his career.
