Depends on how serious it is. I've known people recover within a few days although I'm not sure they would be fit enough to play football, As he came off the bench, I presume he has a mild form and should be fit in week or so. When I caught malaria in the 70s, it almost killed me. I went into a coma and lost about 3 stone in weight. Malaria is still the biggest killer in sub-Saharan Africa and is very debilitating. He’s got malaria , I don’t know length of full recovery , knowing us it will take months !
He contracted it a while ago though right?Google says a couple of weeks.
First reports came out about two weeks ago I think. He contracted it a while ago though right?
Highly unlikely. Malaria generally doesn't recur (although you can obviously catch it repeated times). I have not had a recurrence although I still can't donate blood fifty years after my attack. I think that is more to do with the jaundice that accompanies a malaria attack. While he might recover in a couple of weeks, getting his elite sportsman energy levels back might take months. Malaria can be debilitating enough for some, vaccinated or not.
I do wonder how long he's had it. Is it possible it was the cause of him losing his form before the ANC?
Malaria is a serious life threatening infection and he was still played? Dont care if it’s common where he’s from, that’s insane.
