With the Euro's this summer, it's definitely something to think about for the player.
I don't know what Denmark's depth is for the Euros, but I don't see too much difference between PEH staying here and playing most games from the bench while we compete at the top of the table, or going to a relegation level squad.

I've been a defender of him for a long time but I was at the game yesterday and I thought he was poor. He didn't really affect the game at all and got caught in possession when being pressed a good few times.

I like a lot of things about him but he really does seem to be struggling with the pace of the Prem atm.

I imagine PEH in the dressing room last night:

Wat?

He was brought on to be more disciplined sitting deeper, and allowing Maddison and Kulusevski more freedom to attack. I'd say he affected the game quite a bit...

Odd because I’m not a fan at all but thought he did a good job when he came on and did affect the game

Funny old game and the way we all see things differently 🤷‍♂️

With Bentancur, Biss, Sarr and Maddison, and only one game a week for the majority of the season, you'd hope PEH isn't going to be getting too many starting minutes.

PEH, Skipp and Lo Celso make a pretty reasonable selection of 5th choice midfielders if the right options aren't available in this window.

Not ideal but certainly not disastrous.

Just what I saw from inside the ground. I dont know about you lot but i seem to interpret games and performances a little differently being there live vs watching on TV. For better or worse.

Not saying I'm right. Just how I saw it in the moment.

He has been massive for us the past few weeks with injuries and guys off to Afcon. Actually think he has been better than Bentancur post Bent’s recent injury. He will be important squad player remainder of the season.

Despite the clear deficiencies in technical skill that we need in the Postecoglu midfield, he offers something different to the players we have, namely 1) availability, 2) defensive discipline and 3) leadership qualities.

We can have extremely talented players who are limited in their value to us due to frequent injuries (Lo Celso, Sessegnon) or disciplinary issues (Bissouma) and this is something, despite his role and energy required delivers for us.

So Hojbjerg staying until the summer is no problem for me, particularly in the absence of a clear upgrade before deadline day is over.

Mate, he was a big part of us getting going in the second half.

Maybe just need to pay a bit more attention....

And yes I was at the game

From all accounts he was desperate to leave and play weekly. I reckon his change of heart is because no one big enough came in for him, or if they did they couldn't afford him. It's not because he feels something big is happening at Spurs. It's not as if Juve offered us the money and he turned them down. Despite this I've no doubt he'll give 100% every time he plays as he always has. And the squad is better for him being in it than not.

"The key is that we are playing for something. I always said in the past like I say now, what drives me is the purpose of fighting for something and I definitely feel that Tottenham is fighting for something.”

I'm far from a hojbjerg fan but you could see he played a few of the initial passes that led to goals yesterday. Still want him out when the opportunity arises but you can't be completely blinkered.
Yeah, it's fairly clear he doesn't suit the system well enough but he's been solid under Ange most games. We do lack something when he plays that Biss and Sarr add.

Hes not a bad back up as far as things go

To be fair to him I think he's bought into the way Ange sets the team up and I've seen a good deal of change in him for the better. I'm not bothered now if I see his name on the team sheet!

He always makes these dangerous mistakes in games which is largely why he doesn't start. He did do well last night again and was quality against City but again in that one had some mad moments. Although to be fair so did Udogie last night. He definitely has his use when we need someone to get stuck in and change momentum. Hopefully in the summer we can find someone with those qualities who is better with the ball.
