Yeah our form without Sarr is not great. Shows how far he's come he's such a key player now. Then if you have no Sarr you want at least to have Bentancur at his fully fit self playing that role and Bissouma sitting. Definitely need one more midfielder but we will have to wait until summer I reckon. I want to see Sarr keep starting and growin though. He could become world class. Just need better quality when he's out and to rest him back end of games.

I think we need to remember that we had our RW/3rd choice #10, a player only his 4th game after being out injured for a while and player that doesn't fit our style of play starting in midfield with 4 players unavailable/not ready to start that would of been ahead of 2 of those starting CMs and we were playing arguably the best team in the world.

Ideally, long term, we need a reliable back up #10 and a back up #6 that suits us but not many teams have 4 CMs missing from their starting line up and do well v City.

It's the equivalent of City, in addition to de Bruyne being on the bench and having Rodri who isn't fully fit, also missing Silva, Kovacic and Nunes.

He's probably the midfielder we miss most when he's not playing.
Yeah there is a huge Sarr shaped hole in the midfield when he isn't playing and it's becoming more and more obvious how vital he is to how we play. We desperately need a proper rotational player in the squad that can offer the energy Sarr gives us.

I guess the big question is around Bentancur playing that role. He still needs games to be fully up to speed but can he do as much as Sarr? He has great energy and pressing but the injuries may have taken a toll. It might be better for him to play as a 6 like he does with Uruguay. I would be tempted to go for an 8 without that injury history and keep Skipp as a depth option to cover either 6 (if both Bentancur and Bissouma are out) or as an 8. Get another young energetic box to box player because it's such a demanding role that requires some rotation anyway

Surprised skippy didn’t start as he is much more mobile than Hojbjerg.. There are times when Pierre doesn’t think quickly enough. Ideal for a Mourinho team but not ours. He will get a decent move in the summer, unless someone comes with a daft offer which I can’t see happening.

But Hojbjerg played as a 6 and Bentancur was the more mobile 8. I thought Hojbjerg did well for as long as Bentancur was around.

I actually think when all fit, Biss is the midfielder who makes way…
Bisoumma’s the best 6 at the club still for me. He’ll be in the team. Sarr will likely be fighting it out with Bentancur for the 8 Think if Bentancur was thought of as the the 6 option he would of played there yesterday and against United. Ange has said he was looking forward to Biss and Bentancur together.

I love sarr’s energy but I feel like he’s becoming a bit overhyped. He’s a bit loose with his touch and passing under pressure still imo. good player to bring on when the game gets stretched later on but Bentancur offers a lot more quality on the ball from that position.

It's hard to tell because both Sarr and Bissouma are away. Bentancur as an 8 doesn't necessarily mean that's where he will be playing. We even played Skipp further forward agains Utd. The good thing is both Sarr and Bissouma are great players and I'll always be happy with 3 of Bissouma, Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison starting. I think the answer will lie somewhere between and Ange will use different combinations depending on the opponent.

Yeah of course, just my gut feeling on who he’ll see as the strongest midfield. Just feel like Bisoumma’s form has been exaggerated and Sarr’s overhyped a bit. It’s a good four to choose from anyway

Think Starr's importance is massively understated.
He offers so much in terms of the ground he covers, the space he allows Porro to work in and his ability to travel with and without the ball into space.
The positions he takes up and his awareness of where to move is so good

Bentancur is not up to speed yet and when coupled with PEH it's all a bit static

We need third man running to make our system work..

Don't see a problem with his use of the ball or touch either.

He's one of our 3 best CMs IMO.

Cracking game this. I feel like Sarr has covered an unbelievable amount of ground here.
Yeah he's constantly on the move looking for where he can go to receive the ball or impact the game .

Got energy to burn and when teams that just sit in against us it's not all about skill and individual brilliance to pick the lock it's that constant moving and probing that wears them down.
