Id rather give the likes of Donley a chance personally and we could get a reasonable fee for Gio
An 18 year old who’s proven nothing in the men’s game. Plus a player who’s by all accounts a 10. Gio isn’t on big wages and is happy here.
Donley needs to prove him self on a loan or two.
devine I could understand but I doubt we’ll even get a fee for Gio clubs are broke in Europe.

Donley and Devine as rotation options from the bench and sell Lo Celso to Spain for 20-25 million is what I would do in the summer.

But who in Spain has the money to buy him? Where’s 25m coming from? All that happens is clubs want a loan and we’ll lose him on a free when the guy was largely responsible for getting us some a draw at city and a win against Bournemouth.
He’s contributing in a lot of games and adds a lot, a dam sight more than skipp does.

People say this with the youngsters way too easily. I'm all for the likes of Donley to be given a chance to show he can be relied upon at this level, but to call for him and Devine to take Lo Celso's space as an option for depth is madness IMO.

Exactly this. Big difference between doing it in the under 21s and in league one to a guy who’s done it in champions league quarter finals

Lol this thread is as bipolar as the Richarlison thread

Has a good match - “I’ve always rated Lo Celso, we need to tie him down to a new contract he will be a valuable part of the squad moving forwards”

Doesn’t score/assist or the team doesn’t perform well - “get rid, his heart has never really been in it, and Kulu is better at number 10 anyway..”

😂

This may well be the first photo where I've seen gio smiling. I'm happy with his contribution this season so far 👍

Makes a huge difference to players like him having a manager who wants to play proactive, attacking football compared to the shite dished up by Mourinho and Conte. He needs a new contract imo.

He came off early Friday, looked in discomfort. Any news on that?

"Lo Celso will be unavailable for 6 weeks"

It helps that he's been surrounded by other Argentinian mates, first Romero and then Veliz, plus a wider hispanic group with Bentancur, Porro, Gil plus the Brazilians. If you're starting to feel more at home and seeing your mates at training every day, it's going to put a smile on your face.

hopefully werner coming in means lo celso moves to 8 with benta in the 6 and kulu in 10 Werner, Johnson and Richy up top until these ridiculous tournaments are over.

He is a seriously good number 8 dictating the tempo with the game ahead of him not so much a number 10 where he has to find space and hold the ball up at times.

I was never hugely convinced by him before this season, but people have to be impressed with how he's adapted. He's been really good.

I can completely understand why some would be underwhelmed by him up until this season. I’ve always been a fan so obviously I’m some what biased but even if I wasn’t you can see he fits the system perfectly. Also listening to Ange’s comments and reading Gio’s interview you can tell Ange rates him also which is the most important part.
