Werner......wow! Out of the blue! Could be a very exciting signing under Ange! Love this kind of signing, his name had never been mentioned to me.
Before he went Chelsea was genuinely one of the most exciting players in Europe to watch. Curious to see if Ange could work some magic

but why would Leipzig release himif he was playing well?
he hasnt been playing lately. openda and sesko have been playing well and timo has been suffering from injuries. i think he would do great here as long as he stays fit.

Werner is an interesting one. Was pretty awful in terms of goal scoring for Chelsea but there is definitely a good player there. I could see him working well in our system. Loan with an option to buy in the summer could be a very smart bit of business.

Well we are data driven now so maybe they've seen something 🤷🏼‍♂️. Ange must also really like him otherwise he wouldn't have agreed to it. Sometimes all it takes is the right manager and system. There is zero risk to it, if he's class then we purchase him, if he's poor we send him back. He will provide competition and Richarlison and cover for Son. I know Richi has started scoring but let's be honest, he misses so many chances. Maybe Werner would mop up some of those 🤷🏼‍♂️

Worth noting it’s now 3.5 years of struggling. He’s got 2 goals in 8 league games for RB this year, and only got 9 last year.

That said, as an option off the left while son is away I’d take him over our existing choices if fit (don’t think left wing suits Brennan) so a low cost no risk loan would be fine

Well it'll either be confirmed or denied within the hour I'd have thought...

To add context - 2 goals in 203 mins. And last season was 9 goals and 4 assists in 27 games.

The season before he went to Chelsea he had 34 goals and 13 assists in 45 games so if he could get to even half as good as that season, he would be worth it

Agree with all that but just pointing out that season before Chelsea is a long time ago now. A goal or assist every other game is (that he managed last year) is probably a realistic expectation, and that’s meh but better than Gil (or IMO Johnson at LW) is likely to provide off the left so I’d give it a go

Low risk and should be able to adapt quickly back into PL life with us.

Would imagine he's now the preference to Jota in that role and we are now pulling the trigger.

Injury prone, tick.

Fast but can’t actually dribble and beat players, tick.

Can’t finish to save his life, tick.

Zero composure or ball retention, tick.

Apart from that, great signing 😂😞
