Every part of my logical make up would dictate that I don’t see this happening, but I dunno, I just have a feeling that Levy may relent and get it done.
I’d argue that the squad has been on a very gradual decline since the season we finished second behind Chelsea. That was the peak of our team - Young hungry and Poch at his best. It was probably then that we had to wade in and show all our ambition, yet for whatever reason we were stagnant.
As Trix alluded to it’s either show a turnaround and a big step forward this season or it’s likely say goodbye to HK and possibly other key parts of this squad that we have enjoyed for the last 5 years.
Bringing in Bale would send a message of intent and would buy Levy a rather large fresh dose of goodwill amongst the support. You’d hope as well that it would be a catalyst to ignite the team and manager as well.
And I say all that whilst not even being fully fully convinced as to how the current Bale might fare being back in our team and the PL.
