Here is a small brief :

* Hes not prolific, averages circa 11/12 goals per season but that includes all competitions
* He is not really a number 9, im not comparing him directly to Firminio but he takes the same positions on the pitch if that makes sense
* Hes 6ft 2 and a half, but is not directly a target man but maybe could pull if off at times,
* He doesnt score many with his head although 6 ft 2+

He is ok / decent not sure, one thing i can say he is a journeyman and starring role for a loan player (see table below to why ;) )

Not ideal signing for sure, but not as bottom of the barrel as Benteke .......

Liverpool linked with Werner for 50M - we're signing a stop gap for the same (supposedly, though i take it with a grain of salt...)

Cavani is a lot cheaper then that. 10 to 20 plus wages wont touch 50

If we're signing Willian Jose for 50 mil and pay him 80k per week for 3 years, we end up paying 63 mil for him in total.

If we're signing Cavani for 20 mil and pay him 360k per week for 2 years, we end up paying 57 mil.

A 50m fee could get us one of the brightest prospects in world football (Dembele, Werner, 2 Halands, etc.), but instead, we're signing this 28-year-old bloke with a 3 games/1 goal career ratio for the same (alleged) price
€50m is £42m. That wouldn’t get you half of Dembele or Werner.

Plus I’d be absolutely amazed if he was costing us that much.

Diario vasco, who i think were the first to report it say that a fee of around €30m could be enough to sign him, so I really can’t see it being €50m, especially since we’ve been trying to loan everyone under the sun

Only one side of the story if you’re using that as an argument... Cavani would have no value once his contract is up as he’d be 35/36

I'll bet there's huge loyalty bonuses, agent fees involved with Cavani. We don't even know if he'd want to come and not be the main man.

I’d be shocked if there was any truth at all in the €50m fee. If we were willing to pay anywhere close to that for a stopgap striker we’d have snapped up Piatek at €30m weeks ago. It’ll be far less.

Judging by the sociedad fan comments they've added a 0 to that 50 valuation.

Anybody listen to the Monday Night Club?

I now compare every transfer rumour through a Martin Škrtel lens.

Willian Jose has scored the most headed goals in La Liga since he joined Sociedad in 2016.

The reason I dont mind him coming in is because I've felt watching us the last few games we've missed a real focal point up front meaning our runners havent had anything to run off..looks a decent enough stop gap until Harry's fit but not for €50mill better out there for that price
