If he sacks Poch and brings in a top line winner like Allegri, Levy will probably as you say have to sell 6-8 players quickly and buy just as many.

If he doesn’t back Allegri or Mourinho or whoever comes in the place will quickly become toxic.

Levy makes sacking Poch a real risk with his leadership style.

I don’t think it’s that drastic. We know from the past that in times of trouble he will go out and spend. Redknapp’s first transfer window was a big one as I recall, and that was a January window. We are currently nowhere near the required level for the players we have. That’s down to the coaching and tactics.

Who are these players that need benching apart from Eriksen?

anyone who wanted out this summer - as Waddle, Roberts and others have said - you don't want to be here, fine. Don't play.
Let's rebuild with those with a hunger to play for the club in the next cycle.

I love how all the ITK’s on here are jumping on the bandwagon now of how bad Poch is. I could swear they were all saying what a happy camp it was only 2 months ago. So much conflicted info on here.

Attack wise we are underperforming, in terms of defence I worry about us under almost any manager. We need a proper DM (Dier and Wanyama not good enough) new CB and a RB quickly.

The most depressing thing about it all is that he will go on to great success in the future. He will take lessons from us and move on to a big club and budget and win the lot.

Poch is not tactically aware enough to go onto great things. I think we'll be his biggest achievement unless he goes somewhere like Celtic.

Levy has three options: 1 he's going to make a colossal error and sack Poch
2 status quo until the summer - cheaper option
3 back Poch big time

my guess is it won't be 3 as there is fark all evidence of that happening with Danny

If you include our commitment to GLC, we spent some £130m in the summer. I don't know what people expect to happen for the "back the manager" rhetoric to be satisfied.

How can the chairman back the manager when the manager doesn't even back himself, playing broken shitty players that he claims he doesn't want?

People can keep trying to find reasons to blame everything on stale squads, that season we didn't buy another etc. but look at Chelsea - their transfer ban and getting Lampard in is going to do wonders for them, as they're actually saying "Let's play that kid who looked decent in the summer" and they're all playing on fire now. For all his rep, we'd never see that with Poch - they disappear into a black hole with constant "we have to be patient" and "not ready" crap. We would be better off with Tanganga, Skipp, Amos, Roles, Parrott etc. in the squad instead of poor performing players that aren't putting in a shift and allegedly don't want to be here. I swear young players got more first team chances under Redknapp and Sherwood, and it makes me severely doubt that we'd ever have seen a Bentaleb or Kane if it wasn't for them.

We are kind of fucked either way, this club can't replace Vert, Toby, Eriksen in one window, not to mention add one or two fullbacks and a DM on top of it. January transfer window has inflated prices and we won't do any business then probably. Last year without transfers and needing to overuse players and risk their injuries proprerly fucked us. Maybe GLC, Foyth, Sessegnon and some youngsters that love the club like Tanganga and Skipp can somewhat turn this around but this team won't win any trophies.

Drastic change needed but its been needed for a while now. So would not be surprised to see the usual faces line up against Watford.

Would love if Poch stays that he played some of the youth and really made a statement. Losing hurts and I hate it but when the effort or performance is there it makes it bearable and I could bear that pain if I could see the seeds of a rebuild.

Be nice to win a few more games though, maybe even an away game, right?!

Thinking about it more, even if it’s necessary is there any indication that Poch is going to drop the malcontents and play others in their stead? His public quotes are all about trying to recapture a positive feeling and he keeps selecting players who blatantly not interested, seemingly in the hopes that if he shows them support they’ll return it in kind.

That’s obviously not borne any fruit, so at what point will the penny drop? There’s not been any public acknowledgement of the rot that has set in and the need to address by whatever means necessary. I hope for his sake that if he isn’t sacked he’ll wake up and take bold action, but if he’s not going to do that then we may as well move on because there’s only one way it’ll end if he persists with what isn’t working.

All this talk about sidelining 4-5 players, I'm sure there's some merit to it.
But it won't solve the whole issue. That will still mean that a disfunctional system remains and an unmotivated manager who is not a manager stays on.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

There'll never be public acknowledgement that a rot has set in - that would be insanely bad PR. Poch's reaction today was about as candid as it will get.

But we don't have any other players really

The recruitment has been so negligent we don't even have any promising youngsters waiting to come in

He needs to be brave (his words) if he is given the chance. He needs to honestly ostracise the players that wants to go, like Eriksen. He needs to take risks, and only he knows who those players are, though we have a clear idea, like CE for starters. He needs to get his respect back by playing players who are going to fight and play for him. He needs to make ruthless decisions. Easier now GLC/RS/Foyth are on their way back. Build Dele with love over the break. And I hope that works, as I would be heart broken if we sacked him. As all in all ENIC haven’t really backed him the way they should of. Here Daniel Levy has to take the blame. But he is very stubborn.

Pochettino need to do a similar thing that he did in his first year when he ditched adebayor Lennon and Kaboul.
We seem to have a rule in the youth team about contracts, where if they don’t sign a new one when offered and the contract is running down they don’t play.
Seem a good idea to bring this rule to the 1st team to me. The message should be “if you don’t want to be here, you don’t play no matter who you are”.
Would we be any worse off without Eriksen, Toby, Rose and Aurier? The way they are playing this season me thinks not

Pretty sure we had numerous ITKs saying in the summer that things were’nt good behind the scenes

So a genuine question to those still backing Poch or willing to give him time. Taking into consideration our form since December 18, picking up only 2 points from a possible 30 away from home and being the 18th worst team in the league during that period.

What would be the last straw, genuinely would finishing 14-17th be deemed as a failure as, unfortunately for us, that is where we are heading. We play Watford next who are terrible but I can’t see us winning so possibly one point, then we go away to Liverpool where we will be absolutely ripped apart and have 12 points after 10 games.
