We must of won because the thread is short. Guess most of the naysayers are upset.

Sounded like a really good performance on the radio. Also the crowd own came across in good voice on the airwaves.

Nothing like a backs to the wall win to bond a team

They showed the character and bottle which we know they have. Unless we’d have lost or drawn of course at which point they wouldn’t have any of that at all

:cautious:
I don’t agree.
I’m not sure we all knew that they still had the mental character to win these tough type of games.
The whole squad has dropped its intensity.
They needed this kind of scenario to prove to themselves that they actually have a backbone.
I don’t think they realised they could do this type of fight, until they got exposed to it today.

The sending off and eventual victory is worth far more than £50,000 worth of sports motivation/psychology talks.
This was exposure therapy at its best.

The best thing that could have happened today. Worth it’s weight in gold.
Thank you Serge Aurier. Thank you.

I hate the 'Spursy tag
It' a nonsense
and has no meaning whatsoever
and I abhor it
and refute it
and refuse to use it,
or condone it.

But THAT was Spursy

Didn't look like a diamond to me. Son was mainly on the left, Sissoko on the right with Eriksen behind Kane.

Shame really because I think we would have absolutely battered them. Eriksen looked well up for it.
It definitely wasn't a diamond.

I wonder if we changed formation before the match when Cedric got injured, because I don't see the logic in playing Sissoko on the right at home, although he did play quite deep.

Great character showed today, it was a battling performance and will hopefully give us the boost we need going into next week.
Although we let the lead slip after going 1-0 up, the circumstances were different after Aurier's sending off and it was pleasing not to let the lead slip after going 2-1 up as we have done in the second half in recent times.

For the idiots among us who unreasonably hate on Erik Lamela for no reason, this game should shut you all up.

He's a tough bastard with an elite mentality. He dragged us through that half.

OK lol. Good if we’re still in touch and can turn things round, is what I’m saying. Yes we’re still a bloody mess but I’m trying to be positive and take it that, apart from Liverpool, everyone is having slow starts.
True but I think some of the overreaction to our current dip is that some fans have unrealistic expectations in mind. So I think one game at a time is more positive way to take it.

Let me clarify. ONE shot on the second half, would have been beaten comfortably had it not been for Lloris, chaotic at the back and going forward. I think that sums it up. It was painful to watch. Even taking a corner ended up being a challenge.

3 pts yes, but it was by the skin of our teeth. Against Southampton

Not sure if you missed it, but we were playing with 10 men for about an hour. (y)

Will galvanise the squad ten times better than any team talk.
Poch needs to now ride this wave of self belief.

Ride it Poch.
Ride it.

I'd love to know how many times he took it past some1 today, either just using the flight of the ball or through pure skill.

Lloris was outstanding in the second half. Probably got a bollocking from all corners at half time.

Weird game. We could have been 3-0 before Ndombele finally broke the deadlock and when he did I think we were all thinking this could be a great day. Sending off, then Lloris cock up looked like our season was going to hit another clusterfuck. Then we took the lead at the perfect moment, got in at HT and grafted through the second half.

Could we have shown a bit more control rather than just hanging on? Sure.

But we also got into some promising attacking positions of our own in the second half. Kane had two or three moments when he had space to run at a defender towards goal but on each time went on the outside and was marshalled. Kane of two years ago would probably have got a shot off but he has lost a bit of pace.

In the prem if we can beat Brighton and Watford next, then we can take confidence and revenge to Anfield. In the C/L just play well and don’t bet slaughtered lol.

Maybe we watched different games. He was very poor and went through the motions. Did he make a tackle? Contest a header? I saw him lose the ball quite a few times including on the edge of our box and after a pathetic short corner return pass to Lamela.

When we had 11 men he was dangerous and getting us going which no one in our team (unfortunately) can quite do like him. Yes he lost the ball a bit second half but he was often playing highest up the pitch and hold up play is never his thing is it? Lost the ball less than Ndombele as well.

He's not at his best but then neither is the team. I thought he was at it and was clearly fired up by Kane's goal so there's a bit of fire there as well. I get he;s the scapegoat and deserves some of that but today was one of his better performances I thought.
