To be fair to BLF his progress has been hampered by injuries. I think this is the first full season he has had in a while. Probably didn’t want to find himself in the same boat as another talented but injury ravaged youngster, Jamie Bowden, who was released and is now without a club.If he was any good he would be playing by now or gone to another club. They seem to be using him to help the younger players along. Other clubs have been using retired ex pros as over age players , Tom Huddleston at Man Utd is one.
Watching Philips on his Plymouth debut, he looks a different player, obviously going through the motions as under 21. Looks well up for it at Plymouth. Too long at under 21 does no one any good.
Jack Clarke was poor in our under 21, now one of the best in the Champ.
I was more surprised at Nile John accepting another contract, as he I’m sure is a player would have had options. Having said that he’s only the same age as Santiago, who clearly did the right thing by signing.
