I remember how we started last season we were unbeaten in our first 7 games and look how that finished. We have a new manager and style, some new players it's all looking great but lets wait and see where we're at in say November.
yeah agreed but I cannot rememeber a game in those 7 where we looked good. We got massively out played in a lot of them

There's the tactical stuff, we're two sides playing pretty similarly now, so it will come down to individual duels too. There's also just a belief that drains from us when we go there. Even our really good sides under Poch couldn't get over the line against worse Arsenal; sides.
I am just hoping theres enough new players who wont fear them and will be bang up for it

I agree we haven't really played any of the top clubs yet and the way we play are going to let in goals but we will score and in fact I don't see many matches where we don't. Personally I think we will have a good season and one we can enjoy but I think top 4 might be just out of reach this year and go for a 5th place. Hopefully we will have a good cup run, providing we pick our best team.
We've beaten (and outplayed) the team that came 3rd last season. 🤷‍♂️

We owe them for last seasons NLD at the Lane. It was truly pathetic. We didn't lay a glove on them for 95 minutes.

Could possibly be the first game where we have less of the ball but Arteta is likely to over think this one more because of how Arsenal have played so far this season which could play into our hands.

Go out with confidence, play our football, let Biss, Sarr and Madders dominate the middle and we have a chance to win the game.

Fuck Arsenal. ****s.

Difference for me is I can see a definitive game plan and the performances back the results. Rather than us sitting back and grinding out lucky wins because we had Kane and Son.

I'm always one to look on the positive side and I find it hard to not get carried away, especially at the moment since positivity seems to be emanating from almost everywhere you look (give or take a Craven Cottage penalty shootout) and I'm enjoying every second of it.
So it occurred to me yesterday to apply the Geoffrey Boycott formula for keeping your feet on the ground, but instead of us adding two wickets to our score, considering how things would look if we lost our next two games. 10 from 12 would become 10 from 18, which is still good for 63 points and potentially 6th extrapolated over the course of the season, so that's my hope for now. Will be fun to see how this formula varies with our results over the course of the season.

Don't panic we'll have 19 from 21 by the time we play Sheff Utd, Woolwich and Liverpool.

My opinion based on the early start of the season.

We should and will finish top 4. And we'll also win the FA cup

I thought the transition from Conte's sit back and counter to Ange's "stop fucking passing backwards" would take a lot longer to implement.

Saying that, it's VERY early in the season, so will keep my powder dry but my original guess was (I think) top 6 and a proper go at the cups - we still have one to play for and I hope we rotate less for that!

I agree with the majority of the comments being made.

It's still very early days but the start has been very encouraging. I don't think any of us expected such a drastic change so quickly.

IF (and it's a big if) we can keep our key players fit (because the wider squad isn't good enough) then i think we still stand a good chance of a top 4 finish.

I'm expecting us to take a couple of beatings along the way and i hope that we can just accept that this is going to happen whilst this group find their feet and we just move on from it quickly to keep our momentum.

There has been a discussion both within Spurs circles and outside, that yes Tottenham have had a good start to the season but the coming two games will really show what they are capable of. I get it, it's probably the two teams that have been tipped most likely to give City a challenge for the title, and how will Ange's style of football do away to a top 6 side etc.

However, for a team that was expected to finish 7-9th in the table this season, getting Champions League football would constitute a great league season. While you do need to perform reasonably well against the top teams, history suggests that it is the 84 points available over a season against non-top 6 sides that will determine whether you reach top 4 or not.

We've qualified for CL football 6 times and the average points tally in these seasons for the fixtures United (H), Arsenal (A), Liverpool (H) have been 3,33 points. This means that even a single point in these two games would have us above what's previously been needed.

So while I'm dying to beat them lot at the Emirates and give Liverpool their first loss at the THS, I'm going in to these fixtures with a sense of calm knowing that our excellent start to the season (best since 1965 for first 5 games) has provided us a platform to kick on, whatever happens.

We can even afford to lose against Man Shitty, Liverfool and Le Arse. Because as long as we beat Ch£l$ki, Manure (tick), New-cattle, Brighton, Villa and Waste Ham it means we will get Top 5 (at least) and be back in the Champions League next season baby! Which will constitute a great season ✌️

Best start to a season since 1965 - but also annoyingly it's the first time that I can think of when we've had five different teams win at least four of their opening five games which means it's unusually tight at the top - normally we'd either be in first or at least have built a bit of daylight between the teams below us with the start we've had.

Next two games will really set the mood and show where this team is. If we're still in and amongst the pack at the top after those two then we've got to start believing that this team is capable of some exciting things, but likewise if we lose both (which based on recent form in these two fixtures is the overwhelmingly likely outcome) we could find ourselves in upper mid-table with question marks about how our squad is too young, too raw, too thin, Ange's tactics are too open/naive for these kinds of fixtures etc.

Absolute cracking start from Ange and the boys - now to keep it going.

Though couple good results, especially away from home, we have not yet played a team in the top half of the table. There is an air of positivity for the first time in years.

This has allowed both us and the players time to buy into Ange's style of football and what it means

But we all know we are at the start of a project and we all know there will be bumps along the way.

The next few games will show how far we've come. We have seen a massive shift change in a short time, just think where it may ultimately take us.

If we keep this team fit we absolutely should be finishing top 4. The problem is that is a big IF. Losing any of Madders, Bissouma, Romero/VDV or Vicario and we are going to struggle. If we can strengthen in January and give the squad some cover I think top 4 is on.

Europe starts this week so the real test for the likes of Arsenal, Brighton and West Ham start now. Arsenal won't rotate for a UCL game surely? Not even before the NLD? Can't be seen to do that. Brighton and West Ham will have to deal with the Thursday Sunday routine now, Brighton especially with this being their first European season.

Just for once I would like us to turn up at their place like we own them with our bollox hanging out rather than as scared little pussy cats.

So come on Tottenham, I want to see anger, arrogance, belligerence, contempt, hatred and disdain for the opposition.
