Dude, half the board want to sign two players from the Danish and Belgian leagues who've played less than a hundred goals combined. Toney shits all over them in the proven goal scorer and being a better signing for this season.

I'm basing it on watching him for 2 years in the PL yeah, after scoring shitloads in the championship. Do you not reckon scoring that amount of goals in a newly promoted team and then 20 PL goals in 33 games for Brentford last year isnt a great achievement? His all round game is so good too, hold up play and passing and laying the ball off is superior to Richy. If he was on the market every top PL club would be trying to sign him.
Totally agree with you, would love us to go all in for Toney in Jan. But do we really know how bad the gambling issue is for him ? To go all in for a player that have known gambling problems is maybe what the board sees as a to big of a risk, but again I would also like him.

There was at least two times one of our players could have laid it 45degrees back to Richarlison in a perfect position, but didn’t. He also fought well against their CB’s, and had some lovely involvements while meeting the ball with his back to goal, and passing our wingers through.

He plays a role where he needs to be served to score goals, and as a team we haven’t been good enough at that, yet.

I 100% believe he will score plenty if Ange continues to play him, and our fans do our job of backing him up, instead of whining continuously.

And you are speaking as is if Richarlison joined this summer ?

It’s not 2 games…

As for as passing judgement , it’s not like I have been saying he should be sold…

Everyone gets a cleansheet under Ange. But someone here said we should trust him. For which I answered trust work both ways and He should start contributing in goals. Am not sure what I said wrong here

He hade something like 10 starts last season and mostly as a LW and not in his best position as a number 9. It’s not very far fetched to say that Richy hasn’t been given enough time.

Also this was under a miserable Conte regime were we finished 8th.

I thought he was OK.

He was a good focal point at times but he loses the ball too often for my liking.

Think he lost it in the build up to Anthony hitting the post.

Needs to work on this.

Let's see how he goes in the next few games.
He did. It was a poor attempt to win a free kick. He needs to realise that you don’t often get them anymore in PL

He spends too much time eating grass. Tremendous industry, though. It is unfair to compare him to Kane, hopefully he will improve in the coming games.

Another thing to remember is that Kane has worked up an understanding with Son and Kulusevski. You can’t expect that from Richy right away.

Wonder if he might also benefit from having say Solomon next to him, a more direct and creative winger.

At the moment we have Son on left, who we have concerns may be getting on a bit and struggling with the role (although he did have operation in summer so might just need a few games to really click and get back his sharpness) and Kulusevski on right who has been struggling for form for a while now and concerns perhaps not the kind of winger Ange would normally have in his system.

So ?
You would trust him to be our no 9 for rest of the season and not buy any one ?
Because, point I am trying to make is, we need a better striker for rest of the season

Which better strikers are there out there that we could realistically get in? There aren't very many.

I think Toney has done really well for Brentford and the other clubs he’s been at. But we’ve been here before. Darren Bent for example. I just think it’s a different story being the main man at a club like Brentford to moving over to Tottenham.

We already have Richarlison who has scored double digits consistently for Everton in the Premier League over a number of years - but we have decided he’s not good enough and want to take a punt on an older player who has less pedigree.

Whilst he's not got on the score sheet, I think he's doing a pretty decent job dragging CBs around and creating spaces in and around the box. I'm pretty sure Ange will be delighted with goals coming from other areas of the pitch than Kane and Son because this is how he likes to play.

I'm certainly not expecting him to be Kane in terms of playing style or ability. But he has to offer a lot more than he has in the 1st 2 games if he wants to lead the line for us.

Thing with Bent was he was only really good at playing on the shoulder of the last defender and running onto through balls. He just didn't have enough all round game for a bigger club.

I think Toney is a good fit for our needs. But I think he might come up short in ability to lead the line for us.

He'll cost very big too.

Too many looking at Harry Kane as a reference to compare Richy to.

We are like an average looking guy who has been dating and banging a super model completely out of our league for the past 10 plus years. She left us for a better looking and more successful man. Our rebound girl is like a 7/10 and has a lot of great qualities but every time we are with her we can’t stop thinking about our old girl’s large, luscious breasts bouncing in our face. The new girlfriend will never live up to her.

Harry's tits weren't that big though.

Am I the only one who finds these analogies about how such and such player being like your ex weird? Kane playing for Bayern Munich is nothing like any relationship break up I’ve been involved with.
