I watch Welbeck at Brighton and he is far far from prolific but does a job for the team. Whilst I want to see us sign a dynamic forward I do feel Richy will do a job for us within the system if needs must.

People need to get used to our #9 playing differently in this system than the way Harry has done for the past few years. No more dropping deep and not as involved in the build up play. Ange wants him in an around the box and making runs to draw defenders. Rewatch the game yesterday and Richy is in some really good positions. On 2-3 occasions if Onana spills Richy was there to pounce. On the Sarr goal, he is the one who made a run to draw the defenders to him to allow space for Sarr to run into. Sonny should have rolled it to Richy instead of shooting in that 2nd half chance. The goals will come.

He's one big emo guy. I always said I feel he takes things too emotionally - putting Neymar's face as a tattoo on his back straight after the WC was a prime example of that. Who the hell will do that.

Criticising Conte in his interview immediately after the match and acting petulant yesterday after he was subbed when the team was winning, against United, just didn't sit well with me at all. Lacks maturity all round despite being 26 already.

He needs to let his pent-up emotions go, stop worrying and trying so hard, and he will come good. Otherwise I am not so sure TBH after 10 games in.
He wont change though, and this will end up costing him his place at Spurs imo.

Ange likes to use 5 subs, and if hes going to throw a strop everytime he comes off without scoring it's not good for the overall squad mentality.

My only issue with him is he is very technically erratic. In and around the box we've been used to Kane being able to trap balls at pace and get a shot off for years so with Richarlison it's going to take time to see the ball bounce off him or him react slowly to get a shot off and be accustomed to the drop off.

I think people are being really harsh on him. I thought he worked really hard. He's not going to be Kane and never will be.
Nobody expected Kane but he seemed to have difficulty controlling the ball and holding it up.

Yes he works his arse off but that's the bare minimum.

I'm sure he will get time to turn it round but I wasn't impressed at all yesterday with his technical play.

But I think he is also likely to to get the ugly goals and offer that arial threat when needed. We’ve been used to having a technical all round CF and Richy isn’t that

Hope so. I'd love to be wrong about him and he becomes an integral player.

I think it’s safe to say that Richy will be with us for this season at least.

Best solution is if we can sign a player that can play to a high level in the middle and one of the flanks, thus creating good competition to both Richarlison and Kulusevski.

I think Richy’s issue as a main CF is that he’s not an instinctive goalscorer, the ball falls in the box and he tends to be flat on his heels and the chance goes begging.

The likes of Kane, Van Nistelrooy etc all had the knack of knowing where the ball was gonna land and being ready for it.

I’d love him to come good, but did anyone count the number of times he fell over ?

Would be a good idea to spend big on a top striker with a view to selling Richarlison.

Maybe Toney would be great for us but you’re literally basing it on one good season. The season before he scored 12. The rest of the time he’s been in the Championship and lower.

Dude, half the board want to sign two players from the Danish and Belgian leagues who've played less than a hundred goals combined. Toney shits all over them in the proven goal scorer and being a better signing for this season.

I'm basing it on watching him for 2 years in the PL yeah, after scoring shitloads in the championship. Do you not reckon scoring that amount of goals in a newly promoted team and then 20 PL goals in 33 games for Brentford last year isnt a great achievement? His all round game is so good too, hold up play and passing and laying the ball off is superior to Richy. If he was on the market every top PL club would be trying to sign him.

I don't think he had a bad second half at all. But sometimes you have to be in the right place at the right time and I'm not sure he has that instinct in him.

I think he was poor yesterday. He did however start getting better and finding good positions when dropping off in the 10 minutes before he was subbed. Finally felt like he was getting into the game and then got hooked, which is likely why he was so angry when he came off.

Should we pass judgement on him after two matches? Seriously,
of you are just looking for a scapegoat regardless if we’re playing well. You’re talking like he had a disastrous display last night, which just isn’t true.

Richy has shown he can score goals in a poor Everton team and he does it regularly for Brazil. Those merits have earned him the right to make that number 9 spot his own.

By all means I’m all for boosting our forward line but don’t write players off after the season has hardly started.
And you are speaking as is if Richarlison joined this summer ?

It’s not 2 games…

As for as passing judgement , it’s not like I have been saying he should be sold…

Everyone gets a cleansheet under Ange. But someone here said we should trust him. For which I answered trust work both ways and He should start contributing in goals. Am not sure what I said wrong here

I agree Son is done on the wing, but he can't hold the ball up and he can't occupy defenders physically. I don't think I've seen him compete for headers more than a handful of times.

I think Son is basically on a sharp decline now and Richi just isn't a great fit.

IMO we need a top CF in ASAP.
I wouldn’t say ‘son is done on the wing’ but he doesn’t suit this style as much and is on a bit of a decline.

Richy does a lot off the ball like Jesus but we can’t have our main striker all season not scoring so we at least need a good option off the bench like Orban if not Vhalovic.

I don’t think this would be possible but in an absolutely ideal world we’d sell Richy and buy Vhalovic and Orban.

This was always going to be the issue regardless of who our starting striker was going to be after Kane, unfortunately. The comparisons will always be there even when they do different things for the team.

Not impressed these last 2 games but these were both quite tough matches even if United were below par.

If he's still struggling in the next 3 matches which, on paper, should be easier, then that's a damning indictment.

Either way we need to sign a new striker to challenge him and potentially replace him.
