Bear in mind it's possible they meet halfway, which is much more realistic. Obviously Levy, but still.

Also possible they have agreed and keeping it quiet while we sign some bloody defenders.

Why should we meet halfway? If we have set a price they have to meet it. No being soft cocks.

We all thought the same about Man City two summers ago.

I can’t understand why these clubs that seem so desperate for Kane, one of the best players of this generation, won’t simply pay up to get him.

By all accounts he’s their number one target, why aren’t they treating him as such and just getting it done?

If I were Kane I’d be a bit offended to be honest.
Probably because they have been led up the garden path by Kanes family. Believing that Levy will cave at £65/70m as that’s the gentleman’s agreement that they probably believe in.

One of the worst things Harry’s done is allowing his brother to become his agents. He was better off chucking him a few million and giving the job to someone competent.

A decent agent would have prepped City back in 2021 and BM now, told them what it would genuinely take, price wise and help the client out by negotiating an exit with Levy. Instead Charlie has opened his mouth at weddings and making it known he’s been jetting off for “secret” meetings with Bayern. Not surprised that’s rubbed Levy up the wrong way.

That’s before we get onto signing him up to a 6 year contract and potentially loosing him a big signing on fee and wages if he stayed another season at spurs.

I would keep him until the last day of the window and sort the incomings up. Why give him to bayern now? He can still help us in a couple of pl games if Levy drags it out. Sad that he is leaving tho 😔
He is also 2 games away from entering our top 10 for appearances, would be a good send off him hitting that on his last game

Imagine being Kane right now with an apparent 400k a week contract to be signed if he wants to stay. Why would he even consider staying now we seem to have stopped the rebuild? No defenders in sight and the only way we look like getting them is if Kane leaves. It really is sad.

The most important thing IMO is Ange getting backed with what he needs. I couldn't personally give two f**ks how it makes us look. If we are standing firm because we need the extra money to bring in the players that Ange needs, that's great.

None of this is surprising. Except maybe the amnesia that has taken over that seems to have made people forget that before this Bayern, Kane business, it seemed universal, the agreement that we needed two cb's, one prior to the tour and through this amnesia, justifications for why we're not going to be signing one to allow the manager to hit the ground running is because we've not sold Kane yet and the amnesia is about to get worse as we wait for Bayern and Levy lock horns.

I'd love Levy to stand firm on Kane and risk everything by keeping him, I don't understand why it's being accepted though that should impact the getting of the cb's though when previously it had no bearing in people's minds.

I can only see their £85m being made up in some part by add-ons, so I think that the bridge to what you'd think is £100m guaranteed on our side is further than it sounds, and I think that we're pushing the bounds of what they're prepared to offer even at £85m.

I just cannot see Levy doing a deal for less than £100m. It's a symbolically high figure. He can't be seen to be leaving this club for that much less than a Declan Rice.

You and others keep saying this sort of this, not sure I've read of anyone accepting that this should be affecting signing centre backs.

It's been discussed that we're not pulling the trigger on cb's yet because of the Kane situation affecting what we might be able to do. Look at Trix's comment, 3rd highest rated today, I don't think I can be accused of spinning the yarn with this.

Exactly, the 15mil gap story even says ‘up to 85’ and ‘at least 100’. Probably why there’s a difference of opinion on price difference in media.

If as people think this won’t or doesn’t have a chance of happening, tell me why Levy is continuing to meet them?

Even wouldn’t even bother just like the City fiasco. This time he is meeting them and not just once.

That’s not the reason we are doing it, it’s because levy doesn’t want to look weak and give in to them. I don’t blame him in this case personally.

No idea what’s going on with the lack of transfers in and out but I suspect it’s more of what we’ve seen in the past. As usual we’ll be really active in the last two weeks of the window. It’s fucking annoying because it happens nearly every year and ruins the start to the season when we do it.

Looking increasingly likely isn’t it
and to be honest this is not only something us fans have seen for years just like with our defensive issues but Levy and co have surely…

Not bothered with feeling glum about it all as this whole saga sums up the ineptitude at our club especially at the top of the tree.

Harry Kane from the academy was an unexpected success, worked hard, continuously proved haters wrong and he still will do and he has turned into our all time great end of.

If anything he is giving Levy a favour of not leaving on a free and potentially eradicating a move to an English rival.

Cannot say a bad word about Harry, he has had a lot of bad luck with us being a runners up on 4 occasions (x2 League Cup, x1 Prem & x1 CL) & with England in the Euros final.

Yep I agree with some that he may have not turned up in those pivotal finals etc but during the years 2015-2019 those were my happiest times of being a Spurs fan, a time when we not only competed and beat elite teams both at home & in Europe but had no fear.

Just for all of our own sanity I hope this is done by the end of the week (very naive of me I know). There’s a whole bunch of clauses etc I’m sure it’s not as simple as Bayern coughing up just x amount but also first dibs on bringing him home to finish his career with us.

Sorry for the ramble.

Always been of the opinion that we should keep him this season come what may as I want to see him here for as long as we can keep him, but the longer this goes on and the more insultingly low the bids considering the player they're trying to extract, I do hope that we tell them to find the fattest sausage in Bavaria and to suck on that instead.

Has anyone checked that Sting isn't part of their negotiating team, as this is positively tantric levels of edging if we wait two weeks for a new meeting and they only offer us an extra £10m or so? The bloke didn't even have any fucking socks on and his trousers were undone. What's going on?!

It's so predcitable it's pathetic really.
We're going to have a shambolic start to the season and barely any of it will be Ange's fault. Poor guy will get the flak for it as usual though. Won't be long till fans claim he's the problem just like Conte, Mourinho, Poch, AVB etc.

The last few weeks have been utterly criminal in the transfer market, right when our pre-season was already disrupted by the Roma and Leicester friendly upheaval and a new manager.

1 and a half months into the window and only a single player has left the club when we have over 30 players and no European football. It is only one man's fault yet he still gets the benefit of the doubt by some. On top of that, why didn't we set a deadline weeks ago on Kane when Bayern first showed their interest? The incompetence is off the charts. Either take the lower fee now and pay the price for your own fuck up or shut up shop and keep him for the season.
