I'd be very happy with him coming in and he'd probably be my top choice. Obviously it would come with a big investment, which provides me with doubts.

For France and Frankfurt he's only played a few matches at RF, so would expect him to be ST the majority of the time. However, with no Europe this season I'd be really content with a front 5:

Son/Solomon - Muani/Richarlsion - Kulu/(Muani)

The sixth position could be a youth player (Devine?). If being greedy would want Perisic/Gil hang around for depth, just can't help shaking the feeling that our squad will have to be smaller this season to keep everyone remotely happy.

It's the players behind these that are so crucial. Guessing Maddison will play as an 8/10, but we need someone else who can control it and actually give him and the front 3 the ball.

Vlahovic is only 1 year into a 4-year contract, plus is over a year younger than Muani.
Think Juve are very open to selling Vlahovic because he's not really worked out and they want to replace him with Lukaku, no? Whereas I presume Frankfurt would be happy to keep Muani unless they get a monster fee.

I can't believe people are questioning whether this guy is worth the money. 40 Goal contributions for a frankfurt team that even Conte managed to out possesion.

Are people questioning whether he's worth the money, or are people questioning whether spurs would pay his price tag?

I guess it's all about doing our research on him and his work rate etc. I also think coming from Bundesliga is generally a better league to transition to the Premier League than Ligue 1.
It's more about the level of risk and the wages we'd need to pay. If it doesn't work out (and our record on buying strikers is abysmal) we are lumbered again as nobody outside the Prem would be able or willing to splurge.

That'll be the (understandable) thinking from Levy anyway.

Very wary about believing the replacement links to be honest.

If an answer is within the club (Richarlison) Levy tends to shy away from spending

Levy does tend to spend when we have big money coming in at least.

Whenever we've sold a player for big money we've reinvested all of the money in the team IIRC.

Personally I reckon if we sell Kane we'll spend all that money this summer, just depends whether it's splurged on one big player or spread across 2 or 3.

No

Not sure he does "appeasing" fans to be honest - still waiting for a single CB (even a youth lad is too much to ask!)

And this, at the end of the day, is the root of my pessimism in regards to Kolo.

I’d be over the moon to be proven wrong, but it’s really difficult to see Levy sanctioning a deal worth up to €100+ million.

No expert on him, but he looks exactly like ange likes his forward players. Exciting stuff. (y)

Whatever we get for Kane invest in Muani and Phillips. Bring that number to zero and be transparent with Frankfurt and Blackburn that this is what we'll do or move on to other targets.

Keep it straight, simple, no penny pinching and wish Harry we'll and move on

But there's no issue in getting another forward to compete with Richarlison. Even if we spend the full Kane money you have to think one of them will be a great starter. It would be silly to think of Richarlison as 1st choice and get someone as a backup. We need 2 quality centre forwards for genuine competition. It would be even better if the forward is versatile too as they could both perform wonders so we need the possibility to fit both in the starting 11. Although Richarlison could maybe play in front the left and Muani the right with Son up top too. Having that kind of movement between the front 3 would work wonders. Kulusevski can also play up top as he has with Sweden and Soloman can play either wing. With the quick pass and movement under Ange and flexibility up front we will be lethal.

I see the argument for a flexible forward but I feel they would have to be just as competent in Ange’s system out wide as they are as the main striker. Yes we need options but with lack of Europe there isn’t going to be much chance for rotation. Richy just isn’t a winger in an Ange team - he doesn’t have the 1 on 1 dribbling skills. So he can only play as a number 9. Spending 100m on a player who is only able to play as a 9 as well would be poor squad management.

Doesn't that apply to all stats, and as a result any data based recruitment strategy? One of the reasons why I think stats are often misleading and sometimes completely useless.
Of course it does. If you haven't followed my position on stats it's that they can perhaps point you in a direction but I'll always back the eye test over them when assessing players. I'm far from the biggest fan of stats based analysis.

Muani's too tight to mention

He won't get away with selling Kane and not spending good money on someone, not after last season.

Frankfurt picked this lad up on a free transfer.

We really need to improve our approach to the market. We need to have eyes on these players before the likes of Frankfurt pick them up.
