Stop reading the constant negative posting by them then. It's so clear that some are so biased against the board that all their posts reflect that.

Start focusing on the positive, it's really not that bad. Did you think that we were in a better place than arsenal last year when we finished above them. again? Newcastle nearly got relegated last season and just finished 3rd. (I know they have untold riches, but they didn't splash that much cash to get 3rd and they were starting from a much lower base then us). Look at villas turn around? The point is, it's easy to let a shit season to get you down. Our season was So shit, that we finished 8th. Brighton had an amazing season and finished a whopping 2 points ahead. That shows you how far we have come and how expectations have grown.

We have everything thing set up (stadium, training ground, commercial etc etc.) to be a massive club. We have a fresh start coming under a new manager (hopefully with attacking football). Let's get in a couple of centre backs and an attacking midfielder and we go again.
Football is a hobby. Hobbies are supposed to be fun. Don't get drawn down into the endless negative spiral that some seem to enjoy so much.
Can you be our next manager?

We all know the songs going to end up being the ‘come on and do the conga’ one:

🎶 Do do do, Ange Postecoglou 🎶

Not great but rhymes and is simple enough to get the masses repeating it

Quite clear from reading this thread far too many Spurs fans will not be prepared, despite them saying they will, to give any new Spurs Manager a fair chance to succeed. A fair chance means 18 yo 24 months IMO. Far too many negative posts about our potential new Manager for people to give him the support he will need to turn the club around. A poor run at the start of next season and the knives will be out straight away.
This is a real concern if Ange is appointed in my opinion.

fab on it too:

To have a young, word class coach who plays the type of football that fits our club’s philosophy wanting to come here and build a legacy, but turning him down because you didn’t like his plan for getting us back on track is just completely fucking idiotic from levy. Any success we get will be in spite of him, not because of him, as long as he remains in charge.

still think he wasn't completely sold on coming to us and would have been holding out for another job.

Reckon he may have made some demands with us just to make it become more suitable for him.

So it hasn’t happened yet but looks possible. Romano broke the story of him leaning Bayern I think.

Look, I'll support the guy but he's not even the club's own top choice for the gig. Let's not pretend those who doubt the appointment are frothing lunatics for doing so.

The last candidate I was mildly underwhelmed with was Poch so here's hoping for a repeat.

Yeah agreed. A lot seemed to fall out way with and after the Poch apointment and he wasn't my first choice either.
Hopefully we can get a similarly good run of things together at once.

Agree. Personally I didn't want Jose or Conte but I supported them 100% regardless so i'm accustomed to it at this point. Just have to hope for the best although i'm not sure how much hope I have left at this point.

That is true that his stats this year in the league are better than his stats last season.

Although, he is still a way off the achievements of what Brendon Rodgers did for Celtic in 2016-2017 when he won the treble and was undefeated in domestic competition, winning 34 and drawing 4 of the league games.

It should be noted that Brendon took over a very dispirited club. The previous incumbent had left behind a bloated squad with low morale and little direction. However, Under Rodgers, the on-field play was also wonderful to watch, the players gelled together, youth players worked hard and the established players were revitalised. The form was consistently good and the play wonderful to watch. He also got the best out of players who were deemed finished such as Scott Brown.

The point in all this, is what Ange has achieved at Celtic isn't that remarkable. He's matched Lennon, but playing better football, but hasn't matched 'the invincibles' that was achieved by Brendon Rodgers.

None of this is an insight into whether he will be a success as THFC, but if he is going to become our manager we really need to lower the expectations based on what he has previously achieved.

Rangers were basically nowhere during this Rodgers time period so it kind of discounts any direct comparisons and was a massive advantage for him. Rangers finished 3rd twice ! Gerrard didn’t take over till the 18-19 season effectively, and very quickly inflicted Rodgers first Old Firm defeat.

Could see a bit of managerial dominoes starting to happen here IMO:

Ange ---> Us
Moyes ---> Celtic
Enrique ---> W.Ham

I think it could come down to our decision on Ange/Enrique at this point. Enrique, with his pedigree, questions, time out of the club game... to me just feels like he could end up somewhere like West Ham to try and punch above his weight in the PL. Who knows, should be an interesting week!

Got to love the Levy haters. Amazing how they get 1st hand knowledge of exactly what happens inside the club, as well as knowing for absolute certain what all the managers linked to Spurs are thinking.

Some special people out there (quite literally).

Funnily enough I was thinking this, easy to make your own narrative and reasoning behind exactly why Nags hasn't come to Spurs, and depending on how much you dislike Levy you can make it as rediculous and far fetched as you like!

To the point, concise and true in every word.

Sam Wallace is a fine writer, even if he touches a nerve or two in this article. He raised some home truths, something Spurs fans are oblivious or in denial of.

"Postecoglou has come freighted with the line “we deserve better”. This is a club that has won one trophy in the 21st century and was last league champions when John F Kennedy was in the White House. When it comes to what they deserve, would it hurt to be a bit more specific"

It's obviously been a trouble of ours over the last few years.

"Time to behave like a big club"

Spend 60m and 50m on players, bring in 2 of the worlds most decorated coaches.

Didn't work.

Why?

Cause you remove yourself from your values.

Look at United and how they started behaving after Ferguson.

Sign more expensive players, make impulsive decisions. React after what rivals do.

Fergie had a very clear standard and method, which made the club more ready.to compete.

Poch was getting us there.

Then we thought we became big boys cause we reached a CL final and the stadium.

A reminder that we hadn't won anything at that point still.

Ajax never stray from their methods and values. They evolve them but they don't sacrifice for success.

We did and we are paying for it.
