Hang on - didn’t we hear that HK was, if not instrumental, then certainly contributory in Poch getting sacked? 🤔
Not sure. I watched a couple of the first amazon episodes the other day and Kane said he spoke to Poch the day before and he had no idea he was getting the boot. Why contact him if you engineered him leaving. Anyway, he's at Chelsea now so fook him! 😁

With all the managers that were free during these months we are going to end up with Ange Postecoglu??
I didn't want Poch back, but surely he was a better option than Ange.

Yeah but that story will be contradictory to any media narrative linking H to Chelsea all summer once United waste their budget on Oshimen.

I can't understand how we can praise Emery and Lopetegui for what they did in adapting to/with their team and then argue Conte/Mourinho did all they could despite having more money and better players.
I'm not praising them 🙄
Villa finished above us because we went from average to relegation form after conte left.
The point I'm making is they got more out of this bunch of flakey footballers than lesser managers would have.
There is a sickness at our beloved club I'm not even certain prime Sigmund fruend could fix.
And its come down from the top with the coys chairman's x happiness with just finishing in the top six and not competing for honours.

Nagelsmann in advanced talks to join PSG according to Lequipe. For those of you who were continuing to hold any hope.
Balls.

Have they sacked Galtier yet then? I was vocal in wanting him to replace Jose after that season with Nice. Im assuming his time in Paris hasn't been as fruitful.

I said before that after joining Bayern his requirements are going to be higher now. He's not going to want to do things on the cheap and be happy competing for top 4 with us. It would just be the same issue as Conte. So PSG will be better for him where he can spend what he needs to compete at the top level.

Entitlement.
And what is wrong with entitlement?
Paying some of the highest prices in the league, to a club in the top ten wealthiest in Europe, which has been consistently in Europe for many years now, gives rise to a reasonable entitlement to appointing a manager that befits that status.

Knew it.

A while back a German journo said Nagelsmann has the belief he's the world's best coach and would back himself for any job.

So whilst people were saying he won't go to PSG cause they are a basket case, this guy was saying Nagelsmann would believe he could do something there.

As soon as I heard that I knew we'd be off the table.

He has nothing to lose going there. He'll walk the title and if he doesn't win CL he's done no worse than others so he'll still be hot property and then maybe jobs at City, Liverpool etc will be available

You say this as if there isn't any other manager that plays attacking football

I know there are others, obviously, but I'm just saying Postecoglou apparently brings that in a way our previous three hires haven't, which is a positive to appointing him.

Villa have some pretty good players in my opinion, i find there’s always a lot of underrating opposition players and overrating ours when comparing. The fact they had them all available made the difference with them finishing above us though, if we had Bentancur and Bissouma fit all season things would have been different. Still though I’d very happily take the likes of Martinez, Konsa, Mcginn, Ramsey and Watkins into our starting 11. They’ve all performed really well for extended periods and long before Emery arrived

Any reign with PSG doesn't really count. They're rotten all over, and a legion of managers have failed to win the CL.

Quite clear from reading this thread far too many Spurs fans will not be prepared, despite them saying they will, to give any new Spurs Manager a fair chance to succeed. A fair chance means 18 yo 24 months IMO. Far too many negative posts about our potential new Manager for people to give him the support he will need to turn the club around. A poor run at the start of next season and the knives will be out straight away.

At Roma he didn't do well after falling out with Totti, since Totti is a legend there, there was only one winner but coincedently Totti played less of a role over the next seasons

At Celta he was a success that Barca wanted him after one season, he took a Celta team that Survived by one point and took them to a 8th place finish. He also beat Real Madrid in the penultimate game, had Real Madrid won, they would have won the title that season instead of Atletico Madrid

He also isn't afraid of dressing rooms, he dropped Ramos from the Spain squad to get the right balance for the Euros
Is it then a concern that he has dropped Romas talisman in Totti and another big name in Ramos?
is he someone that has to drop a big player to assert dominance? Would he drop Kane or Son? Sounds ridiculous, but Gullit dropped Shearer.

fab on it too:

To have a young, word class coach who plays the type of football that fits our club’s philosophy wanting to come here and build a legacy, but turning him down because you didn’t like his plan for getting us back on track is just completely fucking idiotic from levy. Any success we get will be in spite of him, not because of him, as long as he remains in charge.

But that happened with the last 2 managers because the club is a mess behind the scenes

Also we played some amazing football at the end of last season and scored more goals than any other team that half of the year. Then even under Mourinho we played some good football until Liverpool away
Is it then a concern that he has dropped Romas talisman in Totti and another big name in Ramos?

This what he said on Totti
"I am already tired of the Totti stuff," he said. "Everyone can say what they want, but I do not agree with this gentleman. I do not mark my territory, I am not a hunting dog. I try to do my work with one objective -- to get the best overall performance out of my players. For sure I make mistakes in many things, but I also get some things right."

He also previous mentioned he learned from that experience to handle Messi, Suarez and Neymar, which you can't say people have done well at PSG

Also since he dropped Ramos, Ramos hasn't performed, not to mention Totti thinks Luis Enrique should take over Napoli so can't be that bad
