On a personal level i'm really disappointed that we're going down the route of Ange. Just not what I want for our club and the direction I expect us to go in. For me there are more ?'s than answers and that's a horrible position to be in.

For those that were about the night where I splurged a lot of info, him being next in line after Slot wont be a surprise.

I don't think you can compare the reaction of us to footballers they live on a different planet. And I hope he can win them over, certainly won me over but my point is his stature makes it harder for him to do so.

Anyway it sure if shared and I have looked but here is a good twitter thread about his tactics. Exciting stuff!!

Yep his tactics are fantastic and very exciting, been saying that from day1.

if it is to be Postecoglou as our next manager, then i will go with that. Always give them a chance. And I can't see him taking any shit from Levy either.... He looks a mean bugger. A bit like Martin Jol . So maybe he will get the half time text message to sack him also, in the end

I thought that Jose and Conte were going to win us a trophy each as per their reputations... So who knows who will suceed at Spurs

maybe it is. But what's inescapable is that only two teams win the league there. He's performances in Europe are rubbish and that's the real marker for me. Maybe it works and I'll be very happy to be proved wrong but there isn't evidence to show that it will work here.
Have you considered it could also be because Celtic are no where near the level of their European opposition...

They gave Real Madrid a real game for 45 mins then ran out of steam.

Celtic haven't done well in Europe for years.

People need to learn and stop making 'absolute' predictions.

Many of us said Conte and Jose were guaranteed to win us something. That never happened.

No-one has a clue!!
I certainly didn’t feel that, I suspected Levy would ultimately screw them over too, winners that never lose, a loser that never wins, something had to give…

As for Ange… we are the 9th richest club in world? We shoud be dining at the top table, Nagelsmann is the best option (if Levy wouldn’t interfere and actually back him) but as that’s not happening Ange has as good as chance as anyone to succeed.

Levy has learned better to get someone on board that will accept his BS, maybe Ange is the guy who can overcome mount Levy, not holding my breath and not getting excited but if it all fails and we’re back here half way through the season again with yet another season written off I sure won’t be blaming Ange…

Alright then fuck it. Darren Moore has been great this season, if thats our level then so be it.

He’s a nice bloke, plays good football and the fans love him.

❤️
I was responding to someone that didn't have the correct information.

I know its easier to close your eyes and pretend we’re not hiring a league one level manager but I’m not doing that.

Also the videos of him shouting have been posted at least 420 times 👍
Jesus, this type of drama is ridiculous.

We get that you can't take on board what others may think of Postecoglu, or put any thought into some of the very good points they've made in his favour but 'strewth, it's getting a bit childish now

So? How are Ferguson's achievements at Aberdeen "comparable" to the Premier League? Your exact words are "None of which that are even remotely comparable to the Premier League.". The UEFA Cup isn't the Premier League either. You seem to have arbitrary rules for what is and what isn't "comparable" to the Premier League.

No, Postecoglou hasn't exactly matched Alex Ferguson's achievements, but unlike you, I'm not going to dismiss his achievements in lesser known leagues and assign arbitrary rules for what constitutes being "comparable" to the Premier League. He's a good manager and has a proven track record of getting his players on-board with an aggressive, attacking style of football. That's more than enough to merit appointment over someone like Brendan Rodgers, who has zero chance of achieving anything meaningful here.

He beat Real fucking Madrid with Aberdeen to win a European cup. If someone did that now people would be going mental.

He took a team that should be finishing a maximum of third in the league and not only winning the league but destroying the Rangers/Celtic dominance.

Slot has done similar at Feyenord, not quite the same level, but almost as impressive imo.

What has Ange done? Because he seems to be championed on here based only on hype.

I'm still annoyed about Slot, he was the one.

I think anyone who followed Glenn after he left will remember him managing Monaco for 7 years, and winning the title with them. He was hardly an unknown.
This is a genuine question as I am not old enough to remember back then.. what was the standard of the French league back then? Would winning it with Monaco then be similar to Celtic in the Scottish Prem now?

Being born in 1991, I have no recollection or knowledge of English football from that period, let alone French.

100%

There is no guarantee of anything with any Manager. The way that some are making 'absolute' predictions about Big Ange or other managers definitely not going to do well etc is ridiculous, basic and wrong.

That being said and I've said this since the start of the process that it is vitally important that the next Manager is a 'good fit' for our Club and current situation.

By that I mean:
1. Coaches an attacking, entertaining, possession based 'Traditional Tottenham' style of play that the fans will enjoy watching
2. The personality of the Manager is fairly likeable, positive and uplifting in order to drag the players and club and fans from the doldrums of depression and give us hope and togetherness
3. A Manager who is WANTS the job and is motivated by building a 'project' with us, potentially with the development of some younger players

If the new Manager ticks those 3 boxes then they will have a better chance of 'doing well' with us rather than if (as per the 3 previous Managers) they basically don't tick any of those boxes!!!

Nothing is guaranteed but I'm a strong believer that you can improve your chances of a certain outcome.

Surely Emery at Villa encapsulates perfectly that "fit" is so important. Way more important than getting a glamour name or someone who has won shitloads at elite Euro clubs. The guy was laughed out of the enemy.
Almost as perfectly as Conte at Spurs encapsulated this too and even to a lesser extent Mourinho at Spurs.

Personally I'd be happy with Postecoglou. He actually seems a better fit than the Enrique's and Gallardo's and whilst the SPL isn't the PL, there's more familiarity with it than the dutch league and some of the other less intense and physical leagues out there.

He wasn't my first choice, but I think the key in who we appoint next is that they bring attacking and exciting football to the club and bring the players together. When you overlay this criteria with experience and past success and then look at those managers we can get, he actually makes the top 3 list IMO.

The whole reason Ferguson got brought up is because a poster suggested coaching in Scotland is "not even remotely close to the Premier League"
The comparison wasn't meant to be literal, but of course you Harry Hotspur types like to take everything out of context...
