Mate, come on.
We stick with this club through thick and thin, no matter how shit things are.
If you can't stick with us through the bad times, you don't really deserve to be here for the good times.
Wrong in a big way.
If its affecting your mental health enough, take a break, walk away. The club will always be there if and when you go back.

Fortunately, I haven't suffered so far but there has been times when I have missed a match or two just because I didn't feel there would be any benefit to come of it.

Been away for the weekend and Iā€™m catching up to news that Slot may be #1 choice. Please tell me thatā€™s an April fools joke.
anything from Holland just has disaster all over it. Remember how great FDB looked? Ffs

Potter has been completely outshone by Roberto De Zerbi, who looks a massive improvement in every single area.

Potter and Brenda were found out, the latter took a little longer.
Has Brendan Rodgers been found out, or is he someone whose methods just work for a couple of years? He's done a decent job everywhere he's been for a while. No one would say Conte gets found out and he seems to have a similar performance arc, albeit at a higher level.

That being said I don't want us to go within a country mile of Rodgers. The guy is very odd.

If chelsea want nagelsmann theyll get him, whether now or the summer, its not an inferiority complex etc etc on our part, thats the reality of the standings of clubs based on recent history, its why we only got jose on the way down and its why we only got conte at the second time asking.
Law of the jungle mate. Itā€™s nothing to get worked up about.

Same things happens when we go sniffing round the tier 2 managers.

You have to laugh really.

A week ago most of us thought we had actually ran into luck.

Sacked our coach and a top one who fits our requirements goes on the market.

Chelsea looked like they would give Potter the season so we had time to convince Nagelsmann.

Nope, turns out waiting a week for him to have time, then firing your coach is the way to go.

Once again our luck is lacking.

I guarantee when Levy finally sells up our luck miraculously changes
I don't think it was ever really a matter of time to convince Naglesmann tbh. We're too much of a mess right now and I don't think he was ever going to commit to us until the summer at the earliest once he knew the situation at Chelsea, Madrid, etc. Potter was always likely to get the sack at some point so Nagelsmann was probably going to end up there regardless.

In a weird way Chelsea moving fast for Nagelsmann might do us a favour. Given he was probably not coming to us anyway, at least this means we won't waste any time on him and can move on to other targets. One of our biggest problems in the 2021 managerial search was the time was wasted chasing long-shots like Flick, Nagelsmann and Poch when none of them were ever likely to come here.

de Boer had only ever worked within the Ajax system, unlike Ten Hag for example, whereas Slot has done impressive work at AZ and now Feyenoord.

Not saying heā€™d be my choice (RDZ), but harsh to compare him to FdB

Bit tough on BMJ, he was at the start of our upward trajectory.

Also, Utd seem happy with ETH & even Van Gaal left with a trophy or two.

Iā€™m not an FFP expert and canā€™t really see how Chelsea have been able to spend what they have, seemingly without any FFP concerns. But, surely they canā€™t go spending that much more without being at risk of an FFP breach?
So it could be that any new manager has to work with what heā€™s got (subject to sales generating income for more buys), whereas youā€™d imagine Levy can at least offer a new manager some comfort regarding available funds as a result of a bumper season of match attendances and non-football events.
(Ready for my optimistic ratings)

Interesting tho as Slot wonā€™t join until summer so we wouldnā€™t actually be able to get him signed up before then one would think. Essentially the landscape could yet still be different between then and now.
I should imagine we could sign him up now for the summer with Feyenoordā€™s agreement?

Think itā€™s more we were planning on tying up Slot now rather than waiting to see if Nagelsmannā€™s maybe interested later. Which is exactly what we should be doing, imo.
Be unusual to tie up a manager still in contract until 2025 and still competing on three fronts.

Honestly bring me Slot, just spent some time looking into him and what he has done this season its crazy. He lost half his squad to the prem and got better. His players are limited and makes it work. If he does come in or any other project manager, Levy better commit to the rebuild and sell on the deadwood

De Boer only ever coached at Ajax.

He was an Ajax prodigy.

That meant his footballing philosophy only ever existed in the Ajax bubble and worked in a Ajax or Dutch NT environment.

He went to Inter and sank, then Palace because he couldn't bring the Ajax model to them clubs.

Slot has had 2 clubs and has not come from a specific environment. He plays football 'his way'.

Ten Hag coached with Pep at Bayern and at Groningen before he went to Ajax.

He brought his own ideas to Ajax and made them better than De Boer by every metric.

Thats why he is doing well at United.

If Slot gets past Mourinho and wins the title, he'll be proving he is his own man and capable of working outside the Dutch league.

He did recently hammer Shakhtar 7-1, who are hardly minnows
