Very much my opinion but I can’t see any way back for Ndombele or Lo Celso. They didn’t come back under Nuno or Conte so I don’t see why they would come back under the next coach, whoever that is. Also If Conte was staying no one would be talking about him reintegrating these two next season. I’m not sure why we would assume Levy’s view on that changes if Conte leaves?

I agree. Only way those two get used is if new manager specifically fancies them. I don't think levy won't be telling the new manager 'you must work with these two', not least because he jettisoned them and took some significant likely losses to help support the new manager in Conte.

No one in their right mind thinks Ndombele has a career in the PL waiting for him. He can't even consistently hack the pace of Serie A. Lots of people obviously thought a lot of him before we bought him, but it was a catastrophically wrong call. Unfortunately, we made it. All that remains is to try and get his wage liability off the books.

Thing is nobody will pay his wages so the best solution might be to have him as a sub who can come on and do a bit of magic

We can only pray a Saudi club come in for him and he takes the offer. That's the only way I see him getting the money he wants.

Appreciate your opinion, but to me having any player in the squad who isn't willing to do the work, is a negative drain on mentality and collectiveness. I'm sure we'll be paying a good portion of his wages until his contract ends. But I would rather that than use up a squad place on a player who can't be relied upon.

Lo Celso is a slightly different case, I could see (if it was Poch) Poch potentially wanting him back. But it was well documented that Lo Celso was quite unpopular with players and staff as a person so I can't imagine that would be welcomed either. Also the PL was clearly too much for him.

Given we have a small army out on loan, I think it makes sense for any new manager to assess the entire squad in pre-season and make their own judgement on who stays and who goes.

Obviously certain players have a lot of baggage at the club *cough* Ndombele *cough* and are likely to leave regardless, but I would be short-sighted of us to 100% commit to selling the likes of Lo Celso, Reguilon, Gil and, dare I say it, even Winks, if the new manager thinks they suit his style of play and have value in the squad. Especially if the alternative would be spending 30+ million on players with similar skillsets in those positions down the line.

I mean, at this point would anyone really be that against selling Sessegnon and keeping Reguilon as our backup LB? And maybe Lo Celso would actually work at Spurs under a manager that plays possession football?

I don't buy Levy forcing the manager to use specific players though, especially given he's been open to having them all loaned out forever. Also, why would he even be saying that type of thing behind the scenes when Conte is still manager? Sure Levy might want the manager to "reassess" them, but he's hardly going to be forcing Poch to play Lo Celso and co when they've been on loan for 12-18 months and we've already bought new players in their positions.

This is tin foil hat time for me but I was always curious how we was loaning players out it made me think there was a small possibility club didn't want to sell them and was waiting for something. Not so much Ndombele but others, I just found it hard to believe that absolutely nobody was interested in signing Reguilon for example or Rodon couldn't get a move.

I can't imagine the loan players are any hill a new manager wants to die on just to ingratiate Levy. I'm sure he'd still be interested in LoCelso and maybe Reguilon but only because they'd potentially be a fit.
We've bought that many players for that many systems there must be some that are useful somewhere ?

My issue with Poch returning is his style of training/play won't work too well with an aging Kane/Son where the pressing is high tempo and starts at the front, and the back line, Romero aside isn't equipped to press like that either, mind you Hojberg isn't either!! So you either alter how you play which I don't know if he would or move on from those who can't do what's required. Which, with Levy at the wheel isn't likely.
Hojberg isn’t equipped to press? That man was born to press!!

Re N'dombele, I don't want him here but I don't know if we have a choice. He is on so much and Europe is skint.

It was opinion to be fair. Just another case that an ITK has given his prediction and its been taken like a fact.
I'm not taking it as fact.

Im interpreting it differently to others. And the fact that it has happened with previous managers leads me to believe it will happen again.

SC is becoming a toxic place full of the same arguments in several threads.
Tbh mate it’s been like that for years now, since the end of Poch. We get brief respites when a new manager comes in but within a year or less it becomes the same thing. It’s just the state of our club, people have a lot of pent up frustration that often ends up being directed at other posters rather than at the club which is where it should be directed.

I get the frustration, I do. It's just tiresome reading the same stuff over and over again in different threads. Discussions are fine, but I'm seeing childish arguments and remarks which are over the top and unnecessary.
