I'm laughing at some of the people on here and on social media appearing to take actually glee and pride in telling everyone "I told you so" about this potentially going south.

Absolute weirdos taking joy so you can say you were

A) Right
B) And have a go at the club when it appears not to be our actual fault here(save for the time it's taken)

Some of our 'fans' legit want us to fail, it's so odd.

Fulham didn't seem to have any issues dealing with Fulham when they picked up Paulinha for peanuts.

lol a written agreement means nothing case in point danjuma
True but means more than a verbal agreement. 4 weeks for a verbal agreement fucking disgrace the way the club is run on the playing side. Do you think this would happen if Levy was negotiating for property? No chance, can imagine he won't try to hard to get move on again.

Lol. “Should have just paid it in the first day”.

If all of the current stories are true then what absolute planet are any of you on that you think that was even an option. Give Levy shit for other stuff but you can’t blame the buyer when the seller dicks around. You just can’t.

Regardless of blame, the disconnect between the club and fans is going to get bigger & the stadium is going to be the most toxic it's been. No where for Levy to hide anymore unless something big is pulled out of the bag.
This is what baffles me. OK fair enough if in this instance, it's not directly Levy's fault but he's created this legend around himself, he's traded on that for far too long and (IMO) his style is now old hat. I't wouldn't surprise anyone at all if you could trace these current issues backwards and end up at an unwillingness to pony up. Of course there's negotiating to be done but can it be taken too far?

As others have said, you want, you buy, sometimes haggling and brinkmanship can be taken too far. And a tactic used too often. Edging isn't as popular as it once was.

In this instance, is Levy being Levy'd. Again. His ways are too well known and football has wised up to it. This is just one of the reasons his time is up. We need fresh ideas, new methods and someone with a clear and measured idea as to the ethos and philosophy of the club who is willing to implement those ideas and take the club forwards.

Its quite clear that Sporting are being deliberately difficult, perhaps to appease their fanbase, make it look like they fought to the end or something. Either way it's highly unprofessional and horrible for the player mainly. Whichever way you spin it, it's a huge move for Porro in his career and they're toying with him as a result. Will have soured his entire relationship with that club.

Hopefully we can figure out what needs to be done today and get him over tomorrow for medical and official signing.

I would imagine all our focus will go on this now and rule out any other incomings too. After all the time and effort spent, we need to get this over the line

I'm in the Levy out brigade, but this doesn't seem to be his fault. Sporting seeking to alter agreed terms last minute, is not really something we can blame the Club over. Let's hope they are resolved and we get the player we so desperately need.

Seems to miss how shit clearly Sporting are to deal with given they want to fuck about with this at this late stage, to just say that we should have and could have done this earlier. There's been conflicting reports about the validity of any release clause, and they've been very insistent on dragging this out at their end as per literally everyone.

I'm sure that this will get done. The player has literally said his goodbyes on the pitch.

While they continue to attempt to loan in Bellerin, I remain optimistic. It's possible they just want him in before they tell fans that Porro is definitely off.

haha

Don't start fighting with each other over this.

It might well still happen and we sign the bloke.

And some of you need to stop taking everything as gospel and wait until it plays out before going berserk. Fuck me will you never learn :D

Honestly, it’s like it’s people’s first transfer window every fucking time.

With how this deal has gone on all window this was the most predictable thing to happen.

Allt his talk about it not being our fault, yet again.

At this point they know we are fucking desperate, that 100% is our fault and no amount of excuses can hide that.

I am no fan of Levy but we can never know if Sporting all along wanted Porro to play in the tournament for as far as possible. There are 1001 things Levy can be blamed for but at this moment, Sporting is the annoying fucker.

This, plus they've just lost a cup final so their fans aren't probably in the best as is, losing someone who is probably in their top 3 players won't be taken well either.
