Did well, offered some drive down the flank and was unlucky with his header.

Needs more game time to build chemistry with the likes of Deki as you can see he’s new in the team and doesn’t fully know how and when to link.

That will only come with game time and he showed in his time on the pitch that he deserves more chances at the very least.

It’s 100% a stubborn thing and Conte making a point if he doesn’t feature at all against Leeds now.

Did notice that he wasn’t passing to Kulu that often which could be a problem, but still think he deserves a chance to start a match in the league - just provides so much more energy at RWB.

That was my only issue with him but it's a big issue. Think Doherty links better

Have Royal or Doherty made any errors that have led directly to goals?

This isn't me trying to defend them just wondering why on earth spence hasn't been given a chance.

Most likely that while Emerson is producing next to nothing in attack , he can be trusted defensively and Conte is sticking rather than twisting because the points haul has been good.

Probably going to be reminded of lots of glaring errors now...

It is a big issue - main attacking purpose of our RWB atm is 'Give the ball to Kulu'

Although would hopefully get better with more game time together, and Spence's ability to get to the byline should be useful

Can see the tactical issues. Movement is very poor and stands a lot of the time in weird positions.
But he’s obviously a great atheletr and had some good moments.

He should be the RWB we keep and look to replace Doherty and Emerson with a starting RWB.

Conte is right, he looks raw and needs time to get to grips with this team.

But neither Doherty or Emerson have done that either...

Spence reminds me of Walker - can recover with his pace, can attack with his pace, runnign on to passes and taking players on. He isnt going to work in a highly technical pass and move kind of game but thats initial thoughts. He could nullify Kulu though in that position

But if we can play the way we have with Emersonand create that space for Spence - I think he could do damage. Today isnt about judgement on him but I would like to see him play a stretch of game.

From what I can remember with Royal it’s been:

- The red card at Arsenal that ended the game for us.

- Trying to clear the ball with his foot for Moore’s 2nd goal at Bournemouth.

- Missing a first touch being comically unchallenged in the Frankfurt home game, which resulted in a corner which resulted in their goal.

However as we know, it’s more about his offensive deficiencies rather than his defensive qualities.

Yes, certainly looks like he hasn't got to grips with Conte's system because at one point he went galloping off up the pitch, taking opponents on and trying to make something happen when he should have been looking for a square pass to a centre back on the halfway line.

I know some people probably think I am anti-Spence - which is not the case at all. I just think I have a good understanding of why Conte is reluctant to play him. And, I am not sure much changed after today.

But, having said that, there have been several times in the last year, where the attack was stagnant, and Romero would get frustrated, and decide he would force something to happen in the attacking end - it usually ends with Romero in the box, and everyone wondering how he got there. And when he did that, his intensity would wear off on everyone else, and usually good things happened.

I get the same sense from Spence. Yes, he is not as disciplined in defense or attack - but he could be the spark that brings energy to everyone just trying to keep up with him. He wants to make something happen - rather than being afraid to make a mistake. I think we need that (as long as he has good recovery pace...).

He does have a confidence about him, founded or unfounded, that this team needs from somewhere.

Still not sure its a risk Conte is willing to take - but, I would rotate him in more often.

I’m sorry but it’s absolutely ridiculous from Conte, he’s clearly more talented than Emerson and Doherty, neither of whom are equipped to play his tactics. I’m definitely very happy to have Antonio as our manager, but on this one he is getting it wrong.

my view on Spence Cameo

Oh my god what a run, this guy is what we have been missing
to
FFS, as he passes sideways ignoring our best playmaker at the club

That run was the most excited I’ve been watching spurs in years lol we were truely spoilt for that 15 second burst forwards.
