Tomori signed a new contract the other week, so doubt it’s him.

I’d definitely take Bellingham though :D

Suso or Gnabry would offer options on the left and right of the three...

can’t see gnabry being attainable though

Googled it, found a list and I think all have been mentioned really.

Biggest shock... Nathan Oduwa (formerly of this Parish) is now playing in Azerbaijan!

EDIT. https://uk.soccerway.com/players/players_abroad/england/

That's the link for anyone interested, not sure how accurate it is.
If it's not Bellingham my guess is one of these:

Gnabry
Frimpong
Tomori
Eric Garcia
Nmecha
Angelino
Suso
Moussa Dembele
Marcus Edwards
Chris Smalling
Ryan Kent
Jeremie Boga
Reece Oxford
Angel Gomes

Pretty sure all of em came through at English clubs and are assoc. trained.

I don’t think it’ll be JB, but not because of price. More likely because he has his heart set on a mega club.

It’s clear we’re going to need to spend big on a HG player though in one of the two positions. So the calculation is surely either Guehi (we’re linked again this morning) and a cheaper foreign attacker. Or big on a HG attacker and a younger CB from abroad. Either way we’re spending loads.

Jude has a younger brother (17 next month), Jobe, on Birmingham’s books & he is touted as having a higher ceiling than Jude, already represented England at Under 17 level. Might be one for the future?

Presume Noni Madueke counts as HG too? Left footed winger.

they are only English players though - I did the same

True. It didn't even occur to me to think of players like Garcia and the like who spent years at Premier League clubs as teenagers.

It seems mad to me that Fabregas or Gnabry count as home grown but Dier and Davies don't!

Does Bellingham even count as HG?
Not yet. To qualify as home-grown (or association trained) he needs to spend 3 years between the ages of 15 and 21 at an English club. He'd only just turned 17 when he moved to Dortmund, so he is still a year short of qualifying.

If he joined an English club this summer, he would need to be registered for UEFA competitions as 1 of the 17 non-locally trained players for 2022-23, then he would qualify as an association-trained player from 2023-24 onwards.

(For the 2024-25 season he would then actually be eligible to appear as a 'List B' player for 1 season).

I can’t help but feel we have managed our squad badly if we are scrabbling around for players based on one parameter at this stage...

Edit - I should have specified the homegrown aspect of our squad, especially given the seemingly burnt bridges with Tanganga and Winks, rather than our squad as a whole..
yes but they clearly are no where near good enough, its not a case of simply keeping players like that around as they are hg when it makes us a much worse squad.
