I actually think his finishing is underrated, it's so much better than I ever gave him credit for.

Take a look at goals #1, #8 and #9 here. The composure and skill in tight spaces with no time to think is outstanding,

Really good in the air, would offer something different to Son / Kulu

Yeah he's clearly very determined and confident - the Everton fans are hugely complimentary about his work-rate and commitment to the cause. Whether he proves to be a success at Spurs or not, having a player who will run through brick walls for the team is never a bad thing and there's no chance of him being an Ndombele-style flop as he will leave everything out there on the pitch.

Exactly. We all loved Lamela for that reason.

I can see he bundling in a few scruffy goals off the bench as I type this. With him I'd be a lot more confident of getting through early cup ties as well.

Hopefully we can pull this one off. Would be a really nice signing and help us compete on all four fronts. He can finish with both feet, is a monster in the air, and has great speed, strength, and technique. What's not to like? We are going to take to him like Lamela and Romero personality-wise.

Btw he didn't even had a rest last summer as he started almost EVERY match in Copa América then the Olympic. He could have a much better performance after a well deserved break this summer

It's actually his mental attributes that make this such an interesting signing for me. I think Conte will actually love him.

I think that's what makes him a much better option for us than Bergwijn or Gabiel Jesus. He seems to have a real competitive spirit.

This is the kind of signing where I could see what Conte was getting at where players need to be both mentally and physically ready to play in the PL and for a big club. We've got that wrong in recent windows with the likes of Lo Celso, Ndombele and to a lesser extent Bergwijn (I cut him slack as I think Jose killed his confidence and he's wanted out ever since).
Similar to what Liverpool do (I'm led to believe) with making sure while the player is obviously skilled, they ensure the player has the right mental attitude to join them. Large part of the reason why, Van Dijk aside, if someone is out injured the replacement gives the same in terms of application and graft

I think we are looking for another versatile player who could cover AM and RW, like Raphinha, Kamada or Paqueta (which Ally Gold has mentioned more than once). Also Lucas has stated he wants to stay here for next season, so we could end with 6 attackers, which is nice

Kane, Son, Kulu, Richarlison, Lucas is as good as a group as you can get imo with experience in PL and UCL. I definitely wish we add a Raphinha or in a different light a more natural 10 that can play in those forward positions just for something a bit different to help that group.

Would be fun if that third player was Brazilian as well just so our "back up" front three is Samba Spurs ? ?

Potentially controversial but I’m not sure Richarlison is £40m’s worth of an upgrade on Bergwijn…

In terms of squad building it’s expensive for a fairly minor change imo
The negative ratings here are funny. Bergwijn in Premier League has better G+A per 90 ratio than Richarlison btw.

I like Richarlison, but there's really nothing controversial to say that he isn't 40m worth of upgrade and we would probably be better with spending some part of it on cheaper striker(especially when Conte isn't rotating that much in attack) and the rest for better right wingback instead of Spence for example...

It’s a substantial upgrade on Bergwijn and Moura, in my opinion. More versatile, still young, experienced, and he's had really solid goal returns in some truly bad teams. I would love to see a more physically imposing type come in for the direct backup to Kane, and maybe that is still a possibility, but this is a really smart move.

Spurs are a significantly better team than Everton, though, so it's hardly surprising that Berg's stats are better. I'm pretty confident that Richarlison will post significantly better stats than Berg if he joins Spurs.

The reason Conte didn’t rotate much is clearly because he didn’t have any faith in the back-ups. He only ever sent Lucas or Bergwijn on out of desperation really. We were able to get away with it last season because during the run-in we only had one match a week. If we have any ambitions in the cups this season we won’t get away with starting the same front three every match.

We could be one of the most hated teams next year, I can't wait for people to cry over son Kane and Richarlison all diving etc. Bring on the tears.
Yeah any team with Richarlison and Romero in it certainly isn't going to make too many friends. We're gonna be a tough team to play next season.

Berjwijn couldn't get near tbe first 11 so no matter the price difference if richarlison is someone conte feels he can bring into that front 3 then it's worth it

I'm excited !

Bergwijn has played in a significantly better team than Richardson, though.
Most of his goals have been super sub goals, and as great as they were, he's not shown any evidence of being able to lead a team in the same way Richarlison has. As already mentioned, Bergwijn has had long runs in the first XI without scoring. So while statistically Bergwijn might have a slight edge per minute, contextually it they are quite different and you can be sure Conte understands that distinction.

Just looking at his basic stat comparison from last season alongside a few other attackers in the lower end of the table. Its clear that his defensive stats, ie work rate really shine (which we already knew). From watching him its not a great surprise to see his dispossession numbers, I've always thought that he looses the ball quite easily due to slightly poor balance which also effects his shooting. Ultimately I've never really been convinced by him and i don't think he will ever become top tier, in truth i never really wanted him here for reasons i have stated previously, but as a hard working bench option who can cover two positions i can get behind it as long as we also bring in another more technical attacker to compliment his skill set. A solid option who will work hard and put the required effort in where needed. He just needs to improve on his composure, ball retention and passing which should hopefully happen working under Conte in a fixed system.

This is just so wrong. We aren't in the market for a cheap striker, we want an attacker who can come in and play instead of Kulu, Son or Kane and there be little to no drop off. You don't get that by buying cheap strikers as back up. I

And saying Berg has a better G+A per 90 is all sorts of crazy because it's such a small sample size for Bergwjin. Bergjwin simply isnt a 1 in 3 attacker in the PL, Richarlison is. If he was Spurs would keep him.

I find g+a per 90 a misleading stat because I saw Arsenal fans posting that Jesus's G+A per 90 puts him above Henry and Aguero in the PL. I mean, seriously.

A goal or assist (14 total) every 174.5 mins out of 2443 mins is totally conflated vs Richarlison who played more minutes than that in total last season alone and had 16 goals and assists.

Of course his per 90 stats are better, he plays less and contributes far less.
