Are you joking. Lloris had to pull off some worldies tonight. To the eye we did look in control compared to years gone by but they had plenty of chances

They didnt really. A couple of decent headers first half and speculative efforts in the second.

Honestly, over the full 90 minutes we were the better side. They didnt create one real clear cut chance like the one Son messed up in the second half. The Soucek header about the height of it.

I felt we tired in the last twenty minutes (probably covid related) and they controlled that period which has influenced some thinking.

Conte and Klopp both want a one leg semi final. This is one of the things that will apparently be discussed when the managers meet the PL tomorrow. Hope they don’t change it cos I don’t fancy our chances in a one off away match at Chelsea even though Klopp said he’s happy to play theirs at Arsenal. (BBC)

Edit: I read this on the BBC site, I’m not suggesting either Conte or Klopp have a ‘BBC’….
I’d rather a one off game, two legged games usually favour the better side, it’s easier to get one shock result than two. Plus there are far too many games anyway, I’m surprised the league cup reverted back to two legged semis. Should be one off games played at neutral venues.

He's Tottenhams' Godfather
Antonio Conte
At Juve and at Inter
He won the Serie A

At Tottenham we all love him
He'd only been here a few days
When first he banned the ketchup
And then he banned the mayonnaise...

Allez, Allez, Allez...

The difference he's made in such a short space of time is incredible. He's basically raising the dead with some of these players, who everyone had completely written off. We are still lacking quality in key areas but the difference in energy and aggression is astonishing, its like we are watching a different sport.

This isn’t just new manager bounce this is a world class coach improving our players.

Nuno and Jose held back so many of them through either not giving them enough confidence or not helping them to be fit enough or to have tactics that enabled them to be effective individually but also within the team structure.

Our players aren’t perfect and we do need to improve the squad but I always thought a lot of our players were playing no where near the level they could be under Jose and Nuno.

Love it. COYS

Agree. Look at this for one.

Not sur do get the dislike on this one. We need some fun new songs to keep energy up and build that momentum further. It’s been a really rubbish time for many on and off the pitch so I say fair play lol

Were they; they didn't create one clear chance (not counting the goal as that was created by us)
West Ham are effective but lets be honest they are a glorified stoke. I would rather watch us try and play football and finish 6th than watch that hoof ball and constant crossing to finish 5th. Not that that is what will happen we will finish above them.

I'm 39 and have a shitty back but I actually think that after a months training with Conte I might have a chance of making it

Agree. Our song repertoire is truly horrific. Basically still rolling out oh when the spurs and super Tottenham, without much else

Agreed mostly, but Doherty was still bad, not as bad as usual but the weakest link. Conte saw it and put Royal on.

He didn't put Royal on because Doherty was 'bad' - Conte has a history of subbing his wing backs towards to the end of matches because they are expected to do so much running.

It's okay to say Doherty had a decent performance, even if you have written him off in the past.

Is that real?

15km across the whole team doesn't seem much on the face of it, but the difference is stark. I wonder which players have increased the most and if those players weren't trying previously or had poor instructions.

Now the players are allowed to run in the other team’s half of the pitch it’s no surprise the running stats have gone up.

Only qualms with this is that under Conte we should be hoping to be competitive in Europe again in the not too distant future. Singing songs with Juve and Inter in it should be beneath us

Very real, Sky Sports put it up at the start of the match last night...

He got a tune out of bergwijn, and dare I say it Doherty tonight. Against Liverpool, he did it with winks and dele.

He's simply an elite coach.

Also, I saw a stat in game where spurs have gone from being 20th, in running stats to 1st under Conte
Yep he has everything covered, tactical side, motivational side, physical/fitness side, elite world class coach in every way.

Yeah I agree with this.

They had that period after we scored in which they ramped up the pressure and started firing balls into the box to unsettle us and only Soucek's header could be considered a genuine chance.

But around that they hardly got close to our goal and only got close again in the last ten minutes or so when we clearly tired.

Two of Hugo's biggest saves were from scruffy attempts and deflections, neither of which were well worked chances - the typical moments teams who play the percentages make.

We didn't fashion many chances but we also had plenty of opportunities to make more of good scenarios but stuffed it up. With a bit better quality/sharpness we would have got that 3rd sooner.

Moyes has done a solid job at WH. But I still see a typical Moyes team that punts the ball into channels and works the ball out wide so that they can ramp up the pressure. He's just added pressing to his strategy. which is working quite well to be fair.

Shortly after we scored, I got irritated by Don Goodman's comments after he said Hugo had been far the busier keeper, trying to insinuate WH were dominating. Two of Hugo's 'saves' were punches, one was a tip over after a lucky header and one was a fine save from Soucek. Yet five minutes before that they were saying Tottenham were causing loads of problems and WH were struggling to get close to our goal.
