Just goes to show what the right loan move can do for our youngsters, we used to get that wrong quite a bit and hold on to them rather than send them out for game time. Thankfully that seems to be changing a bit now.

Players like KWP could still have a future here if we’d have loaned him out earlier rather than sold him. No one can tell me he would have done any worse than Aurier or Doherty.

I know it’s also down to the player, see Edwards, but I think we’d all like to see more of our youngsters managed the way Skipp has been.

He must be looming very large on Gareth Southgate's radar now. We, the supporters, might not be too keen on that being as how international football regularly deals us a bad hand, but I'm certain Oliver Skipp would absolutely love to represent his country at the top level and that he's fully capable of doing it.

Those sliding hook tackles where he bounces up and starts a counterattack? Each time he does that he has more confidence to do it against a better player. I’m excited for him.
He also is less rash and I don’t think he has been booked since his ban for 5 yellow cards

Loved that run when he drove forward today. I didn’t know he had that in his locker.

I only say a handful of his games when he was on loan, but it's how he played for Norwich.

What I would like to see is him getting more of the ball. Hojbjerg is normally top for the number of touches, I would like to see Skipp up with him soon.

Insanely talented cohort though. I feel Bellingham and Rice are gong to be one hell of a pair. Love Skipp though, it's great watching him flourish.

You can add Kalvin Phillips to the list too, but I genuinely think Skipp can give any of them a run for their money.

He does have quite a bit of Frenkie de Jong about him imo. He's not on the same level playmaking wise (yet, but we've seen glimpses), but he's got a lot the same awareness and composure.

Would be curious to see how often he's top of the MOTM polls on here.

I reckon he must've won at least half of the league game polls this season, which tells a story in itself.

Which poster was it saying he is limited? I definitely read the comments in utter disbelief that someone would write a young player off so early in his career but can't remember who it was.

There was also a poster who said that he wouldn't get game time under Conte, but I won't mention names. For now.

Really? De Jong is an insanely skill full player. Winks is a solid player but he doesn’t have the close control that de Jong has! I’m a massive fan but we’ve got to stop seeing in him Things that he he isn’t

I said he's got a lot of the same composure and awareness. Skills that are much harder to learn than technical skills. He's not as good as Frenkie, and he probably won't ever be. But he's only 21 and imo he has the tools required to develop into a similar player.

Amazing week for Skipp and so nice to have a real fan favourite that, almost, the entire fan base is fully behind.

He's proven to be a standout player against lower Prem opposition, need him to put in a couple of notable performances against the bigger boys now.

Excited to see how much further he can progress his ball playing ability.

There was a moment that perfectly demonstrated this against Norwich.

It was when the game was still at 0-0 and Lloris saved from Pukki's shot. The ball fizzed out into the 6 yard box and Pukki was primed for a shot on the rebound, when Skipp dipped in, shielded Pukki from the ball and turned him, before calmly laying the ball off under pressure for another player to clear.

It's exactly the type of thing you rarely ever saw Winks or Sissoko do in that position as they lacked that defensive awareness. A bit like how you can't teach finishing, I don't think you can really teach a midfielder to have that awareness that Skipp has, and it's something that often goes unnoticed.

As Conte says, he can still improve an awful lot, especially on the ball, but he's a really vital player for us going forward and we're lucky to have him.

I touched myself when he did that

Strange to think that a 21 year old kid in his first proper PL season has probably been our most consistent player so far.

I don't understand the description "limited". Every player is limited. Kane is shit at free kicks, ergo FKs are a limitation of Kane's. Does that make Kane a limited player?

Links to chelsea wanting him as a long term Kante replacement are inevitable. Thankfully they've got no chance.
