I don't know what you guys are seeing in Skipp really. I thought he was anonymous first half, and he made less mistakes that PEH because he doesn't demand the ball like PEH does. Maybe I've was too drunk to notice him.

Tempo was much better today, but another game without registering a single shot on target just illustrates our complete lack of creativity and craft from our midfield. Everton are bang average, yet we were clinging on at times today.

I can't get my head around how shit Kane looks this season. It's kind of like my ex girlfriend chucking on her bikini after a long winter and me blinking a few times at the end result. Not what I signed up for

skippy. just get him a partner who can hold on to the ball and pass it forward

Skipp, Dier and Royal played well.

Kane needs a fucking slap and Reggie needs to clam down

Skipp was excellent.

Lloris - 7 - Little to do other than the one on one save with Richarlison which he handled well.
Emerson - 7 - Stopped being effective offensively when the team tired second half. Defended pretty well.
Romero - 7 - Some very strong tackles.
Dier - 8 - Consistently good throughout.
Davies - 6 - Alsways seemed off the pace in possession and took too long on the ball, especially first half.
Reguillon - 5 - Very poor going forwards.
Skipp - 8 - Thought he played very well today.
Højbjerg - 7 - Lacking on the ball offensively. Some timely interceptions and tackles though.
Moura - 6 - The best of our attacking players and surprised he was hooked first his pace was our only obvious weapon.
Kane - 4 - Worst I have seen him play. He is bang out of form. Very surprised he was not subbed off and he should have been.
Son - 6 - Worked hard but very little quality.

Ndonbele - 6 - Stupid yellow card
Lo Celso - 7 - Fabulous shot. Pathetic corner.
Doherty - 7 - Couple of nice crosses.

Conte - 7 - He obviously has got the players prepared to fight. Surprised he went with an unchanged team and then left subs so long as the players were dead on their feet after the first half.

Skipp MOTM by a country mile.

Reguillon donkey of the match by a country mile.

Reguilon had an absolute shocker. Was dreadful. Kane and Lucas also really poor, both cost us several good chances through sheer carelessness on the ball.

On the positive side, Emerson and Skipp were okay, whilst the back three were fairly solid defensively even if their contribution to build-up play was basically non-existent.

Its a no contest for MOTM today, hands down SKIPPY!!!!

Absolutely truly accomplished performance today, he was everywhere, breaking up play, winning balls, moving the game forward, skippy is not a boy anymore, he became a man today (maybe)... he was immense for me, Im sure Conte is loves him already.

A battling, commited performance, with no quality in the final 3rd. Patience is needed. It will come.

Skipp MotM.

Skipp, Skipp, Skipp & more Skipp.

Yet another match poll where he's out on his own in the voting.

Yet when it comes to SC selecting their lineups each week before our games, Skipp is the one left out.

Cool, cool, cool, cool.

sonny was out worst player, people seem to be blinded, but today's game he was horrific, worse than kane or lucas
Yep , he got a kick early on , that's a good way to effectively quieten him . Everton also closed him down so quickly he lost enthusiasm for the match , he hates being pressed .

A couple of big takeaways for me:

- Conte didn’t want to lose that, more than he wanted to win (and risk losing). Subbing off Lucas & Son for Lo Celso & Ndombele - rather than, say, Hojbjerg - showed as much. It’s understandable that that’s a top priority as he gets to grips with the squad.

- For that reason though, don’t be surprised if Winks - rather than GLC or Tanguy - takes Skipp’s place v Leeds.

- Our wing-backs need to do lots of finishing practice; they will get a decent share of our chances with this system.
Why Winks? What does he offer or ever offered? He shouldn’t play at all. He’s not a dm and doesn’t read the game well. Should be either Lo Celso or ndoms as we need creativity.

Goals from wing backs are key. Look at Chelsea over the last month Chilwell and James have chipped in and Alonso is usually threat.

I just don't see goals in either of our wing backs. The only player that does have goals in him is Sessegnon but then that would require him to be fit.
Why don't you give the manager an opportunity to drill the formation in to the players before reaching such a conclusion. Victor Moses ring any bells!

IMO he’s been like that for a while, but it’s been interspersed with some magical moments - he lacks consistent threat unless he’s supplied with chances and threatening players around him.

He’s a total waste in this side, and also definitely getting worse. It’s why we should have sold him. Really coming home to roost now

Shame

I can never understand starting only 3 attack minded players and being surprised that we have zero shots on target.

Went for Davies as I think he deserves some praise. But happy to agree Skipp was the best on the day
Thought Kane was okay, the best of our front three
Reggie and his replacement Doherty were our worst players. Think Rodon should be bench next time, to allow Davies to replace Reggie if necessary. Though hopefully Gil will be fit as I think he could be a sub LWB

I’m not saying that’s my preference (it isn’t), I’m saying there’s some evidence it might be Conte’s right now:

- the fact that he brought Winks in for Skipp against Vitesse;
- the fact that when he introduced Lo Celso & Ndombele today it wasn’t for either to play in the midfield 2.

FWIW, I’d love Conte to be able to work intensively with Tanguy over the next 2 weeks and then to trust him alongside PEH v Leeds when Skipp suspended.

I weren't happy with the performance but it was a game we would have lost under Nuno and the players are playing in a new formation.

Gio is very disappointing isn't he, I was expecting more from him but he never seems to impress. Winks should have definitely come on in the second half for PEH, I'm hoping he starts our next game.

Doherty looking alright on the left, you could see he looked a lot more confident than he has been in a spurs shirt but he still has a long way to go.

Both worked twice as hard as Kane. Kane messed up more also. None of them were any good.
Kane messed up more? Take those I hate Harry Kane tinted glasses off. Moura was shocking, he couldn't find one decent forward pass all match. Same with Son

Nobody made a worthwhile bid though.

not much attacking intent from either side. we are both midtable for a reason.
Gave motm to hojbjerg more for being able to carry on playing after that thigh high tackle on him. That had to hurt.

Interesting that conte kept pushing the defensive line up. Not to suicidal avb levels where lloris was a sweeper keeper, but lloris had to header a few through balls away.
It seems a risky strategy given how slow dier and davies are, so we'll have to keep an eye on this development.

Skipp wins it for sheer industry and commitment.

Back three were pretty comfortable, being picky Davies could do better with possession and a number of his give and goes to Reggi left him without options.

Emerson pretty solid, should have done better with his headed chance but looking a good acquisition. Strangely Reggi created most of our most dangerous moments but was guilty of giving possession away too often, can’t fault his effort he worked up and back tirelessly.

Skipp and PEH too similar and two players doing the job Delph did for Everton. Lots of industry but PEH in possession poor generally.

Son and Moura simply awful, couldn’t hang onto the ball, couldn’t make anything happen and as bad as Kane played these two were worse. These two for me don’t work as they struggle with possession based football, can get away with one but both ofvthem giving it away is too much.

Kane at least had a couple of moments but still well off the pace, couldn’t understand point of him pressing on his own seemed like a waste of energy and they passed around him easily.

Subs, GLC added bit of quality setting Kane free and hitting post and we need to get him starting. Ndombele just lost it everytime he got it. Doherty did nothing wrong.
