Dier was good. Davies was good. Skipp was good. Lucas was good. Kane was good. Dele and Winks didn't play. A bad day for scapegoating.
I was surprised how often he got really far forward. I saw signs of a good understanding between him and Reg too.

I also think Dier will enjoy being the defensive defender that just sits back and mops up, with the two either side of him given the responsibility of being more progressive.

Kane & Lucas were good?

However, the Brazilian's decision-making also lets him down during passing moves and against Everton, Tottenham's moves sometimes floundered at his feet. He had a 75.9 per cent pass success rate, compared to Son's 85.2 and Kane - who was also off form again - with a 76.5.
The only players with lower pass success rates were Sergio Reguilon with 68.6 per cent and substitute Giovani Lo Celso with 72.7. Reguilon in particular will need to improve in the left wing-back role after an erratic performance on Sunday.

It's not scapegoating pointing out they didn't perform very well at all really.

Lucas and Kane were dreadful...

I get that we need to be realistic but there's also no need for the relentless positivity. It's okay to accept that we're not very good right now and many of our players haven't been good enough for a while now. Fingers crossed that changes under Conte but there's no guarantee that any single player is suddenly just going to become a world-beater under him.

To be fair to him, I thought Kane did what was asked of him, which was to stay up top and get in the box as often as possible. All 3 of the front line struggled with the final pass. They aren't used to having to play this quickly so it will take time. Lucas works so hard defensively and covered Emerson pretty well I thought.

I know I'm a broken record with this time thing but I dan't think it can be overstated. The main thing for me is that all 13 that played showed commitment and desire and have clearly bought in to Conte.

All in all we were good, good+ defensively yesterday, but were poor offensively. Clean sheets will soon build some confidence though and once Kane gets one or two he'll go on one his can't miss runs of form.

I have faith is what I'm saying I guess. I am quietly confident that we will make a strong push for Top 4 this season.

I don't dislike Skipp, and haven't advocated him being sold. He has been a regular starter for the last 11 games, that have seen us score 9 goals and concede 3 goals on 4 occasions. I'm just not seeing what others may see, but as you say it's a game of opinion you ****(y)
It's like complaining that the centrebacks don't score enough. It's not his role. Praise him for the job he's given not lambast him for one he isn't.

Surprised to see Davies with so few votes, thought looked really composed considering Regi was having a mare beside him.

I see, he's Jenas now? :cautious:

Devil incarnate mate.

You're absolutely not allowed to speak about Davies in any positive way whatsoever. Any such actions can & will result in a lifetime of ridicule and condemnation.

You've been warned.

We're all waxing lyrical about Skipp, but he created the square root of bugger all. We failed to get a single shot on target, and I'm not instigating that this was solely down to Skipp, but he is employed to aid offensively as well as defensively. There were no stand out performances yesterday. Yes there were some decent shifts put in, but no-one really shone.
Come on mate, singling our DM for not creating enough (not his primary job), when he had the most key passes on the team, is a bit odd.

I think everyone looked a little leggy, a little like preseason which really affects execution in the final 3rd. I think the guys are going to be like this for a few weeks as long as they are having to do extra fitness to get "Conte fit". Thought the ideas of how we tried to play were good and the execution will come as they get their legs under them.

With that said, Skipp was my MOM.
